But who's heading up here to help the Blues christen the new ground at Blacktown on the 20th of Feb?

We should try and get a big Blue crowd happening.

The whole KK family will be there (3)

You just have to approach Westies like you approach a mean-looking animal. Show. No. Fear.

KK do you know if the ground is close to any good hotels? i'll probably drive up and make a weekend of it.

or are there any train services out that way from the city?

looks like it's pretty close to rooty hill station - maybe i'll get the bus/train combo rather than driving.

actually there is a thought - would anyone be keen on car pooling who is already looking to make the drive from canberra? i'm more than willing to chip in for petrol.

i'm not sure but our local supporters group may even try and organise a bus

Close to the station yes but at least half an hour walk by road - also you want to make sure that you get tickets early as last years suburban game sold out quick.

Definitely going.

An ideal time for Blues Sydney based supporters to get together and discuss a central viewing location for the season???

The Sydney divide is well and truly alive within the Sydney based Carlton supporter ranks, with the western based supporters not liking going to the Royal in Randwick and the Eastern base not venturing past Anzac parade. I am getting a bit sick of going to pubs where there is a huge contingent of Eagles, Adelaide and Collingwood supporters and just a couple of fellow Carlton folk. Likewise, sick of hitting the Royal and having 2 or 3 other Carlton supporters, and no-one else to bag now that we have started winning.

My intial thinking is that we only look at the marquee games and organise get togethers around them.

I will be there with a Navy Blue scarf in the air.

So will a lot of Bluebaggers.

I have no idea about seating and choice spots at the new ground.

Getting the tickets in my hand is the No. 1 objective.

Bring on the footy. Bring on The Blues

Sounds great.

There seem to be a couple of roadblocks to a central, convenient regular viewing point.

The NSW supporters club is run by an Eastern Suburbs person. Most people from the East don't realise anything exists South of the airport, and West of Balmain.

A lot of pubs/clubs have Fox, but they only have 2 boxes max, and it's hard to get one to actually put Fox Sports 1 on when the League is on 9/Fox and the Union is on Fox at the same time. And they really don't like showing the Aussie Rules on Ten/Seven if there's League or Union on. So, as a group, we have to talk to one specific pub/club, and show that it's in their interest financially for a group of Blues fans to turn up weekly and buy drinks/food, play pokies etc. That might take a bit of legwork.

But it would be nice to get together regularly with the same people to cheer on the Blues.

Thinking about it. But I'm not going to jump through any Hoops, so I wouldn't be hedging any Betts about me Walkzing into the ground.

Swan's website says on sale Monday 18th

"A limited number of tickets to this match will go on sale at 9am on Monday 18 January. Tickets can only be purchased through the Rooty Hill RSL or Ticketek on the on-sale dates listed below "

http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7106/newsid/88677/default.aspx

I getting them early as Swans say they are taking it a bit more seriously this year and their star players (what's left of them) may play........me thinks they make get a few extra along
