We all remember how we felt when it was first announced that that we were found guilty of 'deliberate, elaborate and sophisticated breaches of the Salary Cap'. We all remember how we feared opening a newspaper or watching the new for weeks on end, as the news seemed to get worse and worse and watching our great club disintegrate before our eyes.

So for those of us who remember that day, how does this time compare? And who will be our saviour this time around? I know we don't really want to think about those times right now and even contemplate this having the long-term damage that day did, but it may be therapeutic to get our feelings in the open.

This is worse

Cos we had bad culture and dinosaurs running the club before Black friday and it seems we got through black friday and its fallout but we still have bad culture and dinosaurs running the club.. Kernasaurus didnt die with the asteroid impact on the club that turned everything black and extensive disaster.

Kernasaurus managed with its massive height and tiny IQ to escape extinction miraculously merging with one group of life form after another to eventually become Kernasaurus Rex!

We would have been a far worse footy club without Black Friday.

Black Friday dragged us kicking and screaming out of the VFL and into the AFL.

The problem is parts of us are still in the VFL.. and this illustrates it.

Today is THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!

I want to die.

Christmas is tomorrow and I want to die. I want someone to kill me. Slash my throat with a blunt knife.

just keep ot playing through that 99, into the promise of 2000 and then into 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, and 09.

count the wins

divide by the losses

stir with the spoons

= culture shock

I have many (but not most) of the wins to watch, over and over and over and over again, just so I can look at the cancer that has made the culture that is so cancerous that our culture is now cancerous and needs to be cut out like cancer so our culture can be saved.

We. Are. Doomed.

DEAD!

KILL ME PLEASE!

..it doesn't compare.. ..seriously, as bad as this is.. ..black friday crippled [nearly destroyed] the club.. ..no-one knew we'd be rock bottom for soooo many years later.. .... ..if we're shit on and off field for another 6 years, then sure.. ..i guess it does compare..

Black Friday was a death sentence which took the white knight 'Sir Richard' to resusitate us from a slow death.

This week's problems can be fixed by the players and the board with a commitment to clean up our act and focus on the potential which lays ahead.

Tha latter issue is fresh in our minds.

Survival vs Premiership potential. There's big difference.

Not even close.

By no means is this good, but all clubs do stuff like this, they are just not as cronically dumb about it.

Ultimately by this being so public, it should be a good thing for the club.

I think it was Parko said at the time it would set the Club back 10 years. People didn't really believe him but he does know a fair bit about footy.

This is a piss take, isn't it?

Black Friday was a million times worse than this... Comparing the two is mind boggling, owing to how incredibly incomparable they are.

A bunch of players got drunk on their end of season Christmas party. We didn't contravene the laws of the game.

This stuff is fueled by those out there, not necessarily the media, who cannot help but live in a world full to the brim of righteous butt-holes.

It's late December, the players were on leave from the club, get over it and move on. Come early January they'll all be back, heads down and bums up ready to attack 2010. Give them the time to unwind and cool down after a long year... Surely they can be afforded some normality, if only for one week.

Carlton 2012: Lets remind them why they once feared the Dark.
