SIDELINED: Phil Read (hamstring) will be tested, and Digby Morrell (ankle) will be tested.

Both played in the VFL today.

Whisper is that Kouta will be out, and Adam Bentick is playing.

Well, less than an hour and a half to go.

The traditional friendly slanging match between my Melbourne supporting uncle and I will begin again.

He always tells me he is not going to die until Melbourne win a premiership, I always tell him I did not know he was immortal. :)

Going to be interesting to see how the new ruck rules effect Jeff White's performance. The new ruck rules in the H&A season I think will be a big advantage to Carlton, may allow our ruck division to compete ona more even footing with some of the more formidable combinations.

Edit: just announced Nick Stevens as captain for tonight, good choice!

Callum Chambers robbed of a 9 pointer in the early stages of the 1st.

'alf Time
Carlton 9.5 59
Demons 5.8 38

Demons got within three point midway through the quarter thanks to the umpire :)

But the blue bounced back with late goals to grab a 21 point lead.

Fevola and Whitnall again outstanding 3 goals each. Fev with 4 contested marks already.

Wiggins has put his body on the line on at least 3 occasions in the first half.

Nick Stevens, Lappin and Houlihan solid.

Carrazzo providing plenty of run out of the backline. Sporn also impressive so far.

The media are starting to get on the T-bird bandwagon.

Fev reported. Apparently it is a pretty soft report, seems like it was a fair bump. Just wait for Bill and Ted at AFL house to get their hands on this case.

Considering we were beaten around the clearances and had by far the worst of the umpiring that was a top effort to win by the bluebaggers.

Carlton 10 point winners 107 to 97.

It was nice of Bernie Ecclestone to put the F1GP on the weekend as Carlton's next game of football. I guess my Saturday night plans are now locked in.

It is great to be in a sem-eye final again even if it is the Harry Potter cup.

A few of us should catch up with each other next weekend I reckon

That would be great. I'll be making the short stroll (well, not really) over from Albert Park.

I'm guessing the game will be 7:40pm Saturday night?

Wish I could be there, but getting time off at the minute is impossible.

I'll be there in spirit (yet again).

Can I officially proclaim Lance Whitnall as being "back in town" yet?
