Great article, my Dad would certainly agree on the fact we don't have rover's anymore, but 'midfielders'. He still Blames Denis Commetti for introducing that term. The Ghost seemed a bit down at the start of the article, like the losing is taking its toll

Great article... On Tuesday night they had the 1982 Round 9 Carlton / North game played at Arden St on Fox Footy.... and it showed just what we are missing at the moment - Ashman kicked 3 goals, the dominator snagged a couple as did Sheldon & Buckley. Buzza, McConville were both comprehensively beaten (so no key forwards winning) but we still stormed home and kicked 6 goals in the last 15 minutes of the game after being behind all day. It was great to watch but the thing that struck me was that it wasn't particularly pretty football but our whole mosquito fleet were so tough at the ball and went hammer & tongs into EVERY contest even the Marcous and Glascotts. What the current side could do with a Buckley or a Harmes or a Maylin or a Sheldon... and an Ashman... No wonder I enjoyed the 80s

yes it was patrick Molsey.  I was down, these things are far easier to write when we are winning let me tell you! Arh but hell we've had good seasons so I'll just have to cop this one (again).
