Hyundai press release wrote:
Chris Judd Donates i30 to Mirabel Foundation

Chris Judd, captain of Carlton Football Club has been awarded the ‘AFL Player of the Year’ award at the 2009 Sports Performer of the Year Awards.

Chris’ achievement earned him a brand new Hyundai i30, which he immediately donated to The Mirabel Foundation, a charity supporting children orphaned and abandoned due to parental illicit drug use.

“During the past year, I’ve had involvement with the Mirabel Foundation,” said Chris Judd. “Being AFL Player of the Year is something I am extremely proud of and donating the i30 to the Mirabel Foundation was something I really wanted to do – the team there do an amazing job.”

“When I heard that Chris Judd was donating his prize for AFL Player of the Year, a Hyundai i30, I immediately thought of the amazing opportunities this would present to some of the Mirabel children,” said Jane Rowe, CEO and Founder of Mirabel. “Many of our families continue to suffer financial and emotional hardship due to suddenly having to care for vulnerable, young children. Chris’s incredible generosity will make a positive difference in alleviating this burden and providing much needed support for many Mirabel families.”

The guy doesn't need 2 i30's, he already has one

Still, a generous move on his part.

Mark my words, he will be the first full back to kick 100 goals in a season. Next year. He's our future Coleman medalist at the position.

See, I didn't like Juddy's game as much as I should have prior to the past few months but have always believed him to be pure class off the field. This is absolutely awesome.

If you ain't down with Chris Judd.... then we got two words for ya!!!

SUCK IT!

He doesn't have to do these types of things. Great gesture and nice to see one of the Pratt Foundation beneficiaries score.

Well if he's taken to riding a pushy as I saw in the paper today he may as well give both away...

Aww, give credit where its due. Juddy is the next best thing to ... well I am not quite sure what. I have been following the bluebaggers for 45 years and I have not seen a better Carlton player, especially one who donates cars. Good on you Juddy.

My son has a gripe though, he has made an honest woman out of Rebecca!

So he has avoided Fringe Benefits Tax and made a $30,000 tax deductable donation in one magnanimous gesture without having to put his hands in his pocket. Well done Juddy

Congratulations to him on the award and for his donation. Having said that, it would have been pretty poor form to just take the car...if you know what I mean. Juddy makes more than enough money to be able to buy one of these if he really wanted one. This is a great example of selflessness.

Not sure why it would have been poor form Captain.

The Age hosted the awards and had a sponsor in Hyundai. Judd won the AFL Sport Star Award and was awarded a car accordingly.

He was under no obligation to do anything with the car. I wouldn't have begrudged him if he gave it to his mother.

No poor form would have been exhibited if he kept the car IMHO.
