I received the voting papers for the Board election today and it seems we still like to play amateur hour at the club.

The cover letter states correctly:

"Please complete the enclosed voting paper by deleting a minimum of one (1) name.... etc"

(There are 3 spots and 4 candidates).

Well, well, I found the voting paper with the 4 names on with the following instructions (bold highlight is mine):

"Delete a minimum of three (3)names to register your vote for any of the remaining candidates."

WTF - seems to me somebody did a copy and paste job from the last time we had an election. No QA - I saw this within seconds.

I'll email the club tomorrow and assume they have to re-send the voting form and this might cause quite a stir and disussion if the vote is close... what are they going to do with votes on forms with the faulty instruction??

How the hell can this happen??? :donk: :banghead: :hitcomputer:

Club already sent out an email mikkey in which they said they will be sending out more forms tomorrow.

What a waste of resources!

I thought that too. But wondered if it was left to the devices of each individual to present themselves as they saw fit.

Not a lot of compelling evidence to support any of the candidates to be honest. This is not to say none are suited to the task at hand, just that they could have made a better fist of selling their attributes. MarkH's effort was at least understanding of the fact that this is an election campaign. The rest were about what you'd expect to read a 20/30 year school reunion.

Received my brand new yellow voting paper today.

Don't forget to "Affix Stamp Here"

Reminds me of the ATO

Yeah, I don't see how anyone can pin this on the club; you would think it would be up to each individual to produce their own campaign material.

I've seen a better effort from kids running for their SRC. Not high school kids either, primary school kids.
