Hello and welcome too a big round 11 of edition of the weekly stats... hard to believe that we're already 1/2 way through the season... ahh a season that not 11 weeks ago promised us so much, and what has it delivered us? Nothing but more stats!

Carlton have played the Swans (in both their South Melbourne and Sydney form) 206 times for 124 wins (60.2%) at PM +1684. Interestingly we've played more draws against the Swans than against any other side, playing 6 or our 31 against the Bloods. In recent years our record against Sydney is, well, awful. We're currently in our worst losing streak ever against them (lost the last 6 at PM-277). Obviously this means we've won 0 of our last 5 (PM-217), but won 3 of our last 10 (PM-148) - however we have also lost 11 of our last 14. at PM-298! Our last win against the Swans came way back at the start of the century - April 30 2000 - the day the CEO of Wolfister Inc (the big blue office at the bottom end of town) turned a spritely 26... I'm feeling old now... I can hardly remember it! This will be the first time the two sides will meet at the Telstra Dome - and I guess if nothing else - we're due!

We've played 107 Round 11 matches over the years, winning 68 of them (63.6%) at PM+1355, making Round 11 our 8th most successful round on record. We've won 2 of our last 5 at PM-37 (winning last year at Aami Stadium in that big comeback win) and 5 of our last 10 (PM+7). We've played at the Docklands twice in Round 10 - losing both to Geelong (03/04) - the first with that kick after the siren (that Wigo touched!) and the second a 40 point thumping the following year. We've played the Swans 14 times in Round 11 for 8 wins (57.1) at PM+17. We've won our last 3 Round 11's against the Swans, and 6 of our last 7 - the last being on Friday June 9, 1989... yes, the game remembered for 3 big incidents 1) Williams breaking Rhys Jones' jaw and Rhysy retaliating, 2) Jezza's return to Carlton as coach and 3) Me deciding to go to our High School Trivia night instead of watching the game, to try and impress Susan Mackie who I'd had the hots for since year 7... alas, she wasn't turned on by my useless array of statistics.... sigh....

Carlton have played on June 4 19 times, which means that Saturday's game will make June 4 our equal most played on day (equal with June 9)!!! We've won 10 of our 19 starts (52.6%) at PM+181, making June 4 only our 131st most successful playing day. We've played the Swans 3 times on June 4 for a win (1906), a draw (1921) and a loss (1960), at PM-8. We have however won our last 2 June 4s, a 55 point win against Fitzroy in 1994, and a big 102 point win over the Hawks in 1995 (coming off the two big losses of the year).

Till next week, remember that 99% of statistics are glad to see that Princess Park has posted on Talking Carlton!!

Wolf Out.

I'm going to keep this in mind while I'm at a funeral....on my birthday.....June 4.

*sigh*

Second time in 5 years that's happened....

Go Blues!

Sad to hear that KK... that's certainly not a good PM ratio...
