http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/blues-top-up-brendan-fevolas-salary/story-e6frf9jf-1225793182134 Carlton has secured the services of Leading Teams to look at the leadership of the players at the club. This is an initiative of the football department. This company have worked with Geelong and Sydney. |

I've had 1st hand experience with Ray and Leading Teams through a few sessions he's done with us at work. This is eactly what we need. |

Excellent. This is the sort of thing a club can do when it doesn't have to fit the culture of the playing group around people like Brendan Fevola. |

I remember posting about this a couple of years ago after hearing Mark Thompson mention it as part of Geelong's resurgence, given the leadership problems they had the year before. Shame it took us so long to follow suit. |

Is this something to do with Siegfried? ![]() Do they have to sing the theme from 'Bob The Builder'? Will it involve blindfolds? Secret handshakes? Excruciating truth telling sessions? 'geez murph,I hate it when ...' 'Juddy, look you're a top bloke, but....' shiver me timbers...sounds like rugged pirate camp to me. ![]() ![]() |

Our club is really taking shape for its assault on the Golden Decade. Great to see work being done on the players' brains. Brain food = Answers to questions. Empowering them to be leaders. A much better situation to have a dozen champion leaders who can assist Ratten to make decisions on structure and game plan, and even to make decisions on field in the heat of battle when quick decisions are made by the players as things unfold before their eyes. |

Organisation wanting to be successful in the 21st Century are looking for leadership density with common goals with agreed processes and expectations re behaviour. Looks like a good start on this. |

the next 10 will indeed be a golden decade for Carlton. I anticipate us chasing premiership number 19 or 20 by 2020. A bit of patience is needed for at least the next season though... |

Leading Teams has a fabulous record working with various clubs, including the Melbourne Storm. I'm wrapped that we have finally got them on board. As I mentioned in a post a few weeks back, we were using a leadership program a couple of years ago through one of the universities (which one escapes me, could have been Swinburne, but not sure). University programs can be overly academic in nature, rather than being experiential. Leading Teams will be very hands on and experiential. Geelong's leadership turn-around, including the players sitting in front of each other and giving honest feedback, was overseen by Leading Teams. This is when Ablett was told by the rest of the playing group that he could be anything if he pulled his finger out. The rest, as they say... |

They were also employed by the Swans back in 2003 or so, and look at the strength of their leadership group since. As I said earlier, having had first hand experience with Leading Teams, I know what a possitive influence they can have on an environment. Therefore, I really believe that the 'experienced youngsters' like Gibbs, Murph and McLean will come into their own leadership wise this year and beyond with the help of Leading Teams. Juddy will also take his leadership to a new level now that there's no Fev around to undermine him on the field and in team meetings. |

Great news! Off-loading those that don't want to be on-board, and re-engineering those that do. I'm loving it. Keep it coming.... Astute decisions with Pick 12 in ND and PSD and the jig-saw pieces keep falling into place. Can't for the Bert Newton-esque 10 to 1 on Draft Evening. Means we then essentially have Pick 2 - exciting! |
