The finished version of the Tigers' fixture has seen the club handed the right to host the Richmond-Carlton clash in round one for the second year in succession in a bid to compensate for the absence of home games against Essendon* or Collingwood. That decision will prove a financial fillip for the club as Carlton was unwilling to split the gate receipts from that game, something the Tigers have agreed to do.

Why not say its a financial drain on Carlton because that is what it is.

Does that also mean we start the season with 2 away games, one of them being interstate. We play the top4 twice and melbourne only once again

I thought we swapped with Richmond for a home game at the start of the season. Last year we had many away games in a row to start. Would have liked at least one home game in the first two.

Its hardly fair that Richmond gets the home game for Round 1 two years in a row. By the time we play them again in the season, all their bandwagon supporters will have well and truly dropped off because they realise its the same old crappy Tigers of old and the crowd is average.

Knowing that the gate isn't shared with the Blues will make it much easier to have a quiet night in on Thursday and watch in on the Television.

we got the Judd game, they got the Cuzzy game and you'd have to think that next year's 'No Fev no Judd' blockbuster might fail to hit the heights of previous clashes.

They get the Home game but have agreed to share the gate with us for Round 1 -

If we play them once then it is a big win for us (extra 1/2 game takings),
If we don't share the gate on the return game it is a big win for us,
If we share the gate for both games then it is at worst a break even and we probably have some leverage to get something that we want from the AFL like an extra MCG game or Nick Stevens injury payments included in the 09 cap.

Caroline will cram in as many as possible feel good Richmond stories until the footy starts.

And then when the footy starts, it all goes very pear-shaped for them, so that's fine by me.

Sounds like we may get a horror draw, playing the top 4 sides twice and the bottom sides only once again, (except for Richmond). The lack of home games at the start of the season will hurt even more with the absence of Fev (will no doubt effect our membership) and no Judd for 3 matches could be a horror start to the season.

Well everyone will write us off, the bagging will start, then we start winning games and we get to shove it up everyones clacker. Nice.

As for the top four, didn't we beat them all cept the Ainters this year?

And as for those who won't buy a memebership because of Fev leaving, well fine sulk then. They can barrack for Brissie for all I care.

Against the top 4 sides fev kicked 10 goals from 5 games for the year

Bulldogs - win (Fev 3)
Collingwood - win (Fev 0)
St Kilda - narrow loss (Fev 2)
Collingwood - thumping loss (Fev 1)
Geelong - win - (Fev 4)

Thats an average of 2 goals against the top 4 sides in 2009. - I'm not worried about facing them twice without him as he wasn't the difference.

For the record

Against Bottom 4 sides Fev kicked 28 goals from 6 games (Avge 4.6)
(Rich 2,, Freo 1, WCE 6, Fre 3, Rich 9, , Melb 7)

Against sides ranked 9-12 He kicked 23 goals from 5 games (Avge 4.6)
(Syd 1, Haw 8, Syd 5, North 3, Port 6)

Against sides ranked 5-8 He kicked 25 goals from 6 games (Avge 4.1)
(Bris 5, Ess 4, Adel 1, Bris 8, Ess 2, Adel 5)

Now he is a Brisbane Lion

How do you account for the fact that he took 2 defenders every week?

Goal assists?

Inaccurate kicking? Was that a factor? Didn't he have 10 shots on goal v Geelong? 5 shots v St Kilda and a few goal assists?

You're deluding yourself if you don't think he's a massive loss.

I'm not shedding any tears over a Brisbane player......I'm looking forward to seeing a new revitalised Carlton next year.

Sometimes he took 3-4. We never gained any material advantage from it though because we kicked it to him 85% of the time anyway.
