Dean is leaving Port to return home to Melbourne.

I think the club should at least inquire about obtaining Dean's services as he would be a valuable addition to Ratten as an assistant match day coach.

What say ye?

Laidley leaving Alberton

Quote:
DEAN Laidley is leaving Alberton at season's end, but he is not discounting the prospect of staying in the Port Adelaide football department if the new Power coach wants him.

Quote:
Laidley will seek an assistant coaching role at a Victorian-based club if the Power's new football regime chooses to go on without the former North Melbourne coach.

Yeah maybe

But i dont think we need Laidley to hold down CHF for us.......

Maybe just as a match day coach in the box with ratts on the boundary.

DEAN Laidley will return to Melbourne, but hasn't ruled out the prospect of staying employed by Port Adelaide.

Laidley, hired as Port Adelaide's strategic support for departed senior coach Mark Williams during the summer, is returning to Melbourne at the end of the season for family reasons. His family did not transfer to Adelaide this year.

He could remain in the Power's coaching staff, in a role such as forward scout, while based in Melbourne.

Laidley will seek an assistant coaching role at a Victorian-based club if the Power's new football regime chooses to go on without the former North Melbourne coach.

The club MUST consider this!

Dean Laidley was always very good tactically in the box on game-day. He is just what we need on the coaching panel. I shared the same view as Sellers did a few weeks ago, that is, Ratten needs some tactical assistants. If Laidley is available, then the club should lure him.

SEN reporting strong suspicions that Deano is headed our way as an assistant coach. Discuss.

The club would be negligent not to consider it. Would love to have him welcomed in the door at the club as an assistant.

I would rather mark Williams. He's a great developer of talent.

..i could be wrong [easy enough] but isn't it a supposed weakness of Ratt's, that his match-day tactical nous is lacking.. ..and Laidley's strength was his matchday tactics..?.. ..could be a good fit maybe, Ratts on the ground and Laids in the box..??..
