[*]Received an email from the club regarding memberships for next year. In previous years people have asked about a 3 game membership, well it looks like they have listened to feedback

Quote:
As a result of your feedback we have made changes to some membership categories and also introduced additional products such as a Silver three-game membership package in 2010. A new part-payment system Carlton For Life will allow members to pay in 10 installments or a lump sum payment which can be rolled over from season to season.

The Carlton players will return for pre-Christmas training on November 2nd and 2010 Membership will be launched soon after. As soon as it is launched you will be able to log on and renew your membership online using your Account ID and password.

Renewal packages with information on the 2010 membership and the new products and options will be forwarded to you in mid November. We encourage you to read the information and be aware of the changes for the New Year.

We look forward to your continued support of the Carlton Football Club in season 2010.

GO BLUES!

Woo hoo! So pleased to hear about the 3 game membership - I'm lucky to make it to one game a year (didn't get to any this year  ) so paying for 11 really is a waste.

Also means it will be a bit more affordable for a poor student

Also anyone who was not a member in 09 and is interested in a membership for 2010, can sign up here to receive more info:

Going by previous years- if you have a reserved seat, you must renew it by a certain date to guarantee the same seat for next season. You shouldn't have a problem getting the same one.

Don't forget though that to qualify and count in the membership tally for the year, your membership has to give you entry to FIVE matches.

Please everyone keep that in mind when considering your renewal.

I'll be renewing our long-distance 11 regardless.

I've been a silver member whilst living in Mexico. Lucky you getting to one game a year. I couldn't even see the matches on TV.
I look at my membership as a donation to the club when I'm absent. Now I'm not, it's a bonus to me. I got to go to 4 games last year, all of which we won. (good selection of which weekends to travel to Melb, based on the fixture)

Being a poor student is a far better reason for taking a cheaper membership than geography IMO.

nah nah nah! ground level everytime!!!

My membership put me right in front of thier run throughs on the boundary line so everytime they came through on the interchange I would be yelling something like "WE LOVE YOU JUDDY!!!!"
..........they pretend like they're not listening........but they're listening.

Oh, I didn't realise it wouldn't count. I thought it would be better than being one of those Blue Supporter members or whatever it is, as I know those don’t count. I wonder why they didn't make it a 5 game membership then?

Lucky you getting to see 4 games in which we won. I never said I get to one game a year, I said I'm lucky to get to one game a year. In the 10 years that I have been a supporter, I have been to maybe 6 games, all of which we have lost (the bane of having a St Kilda supporter for a mother and our inability to win in Sydney). :banghead:

And since I will be purchasing 2 memberships this year (so that come finals, I can take someone with me), the cost is the most decisive factor. Geography goes hand in hand with cost, as if I were to purchase 2 Silver 11 game memberships, my ability to afford to go to games would be reduced. It’s not like I can just hop on a train/tram for $5 and be there..

IMO, purchasing a membership of some sort is still beneficial to the Club. It’s better than not buying one at all, or tearing it up, don’t you think?

It certainly is, Olly.
Wasn't having a go BTW but Canberra is a lot closer than Mexico City or even Hobart.
Luxury.

DiS, disregard the 'tally' and the TC propaganda brigade and only buy a membership that suits your budget.

Every little bit helps...

TC Propaganda brigade?

:? :?

That is true, that every bit helps, and your budget has to be taken into account, but if you'd like your membership included, you have to keep the entry criteria in mind too.

The Silver 3 game membership is best suited to members who can't get to many games throughout the season. You are counted as an official member of the Club and receive a member kit and finals privileges as listed above. This category allows general admission entry to any 3 Carlton home games only

There you go DiS...

Spot on BS. Some years I don't get back at all so I make the "donation" as well. Won't be back during the 2010 season other than the 27th March only game (son's grad from Monash) so hope to get to just that game.
Every drop helps.

How the @#$%&! do you upgrade your membership??

Will I have to sign up as a new member or something? The link in the email and through the CFC site only lets you pay your previous membership category?
