There's no understanding the Gods, you just pray that they make godlike decisions.
And there's no-one can fully understand the workings of the little tin Gods who run Carlton.
And there's no way to influence them if you're just a mere mortal.

When shit happens (as it always does) they will ALWAYS blame the player.

What sort of Management gives Fev a final warning, then sits back and does nothing to manage him?

And then, in a moment of breath-taking stupidity lets him work on the footy show? A cross between a circus and a zoo that encourages the kind of crass, drunken idiocy that Sam Newman personifies. You gave the dumbest full-forward in the league a camera, a mike and access to beer and think "What could possibly go wrong?".. Get real. This is the sort of drunken yobbo behaviour that was positively ENCOURAGED by the Sticks era boneheads.

But the Gods (no matter how ignorant, arrogant and stupid) have spoken.
The Golden Boot is gone, The $2 million boot with the 10 cent brain is no more. It's over.
The brains that sacked him aren't any smarter than he is. But they're the Gods and they rule the park.


You don't stop backing the club.
You don't abandon your faith.


But you don't assume the gods will make the best decisons for the club. And you don't have to swallow the fairy stories their priests tell you. The only principle in play here is "It's not my fault, blame the player, sack him quick so that we don't look weak. Cause secretly we think we might not be looking good. So shoot first and aim afterwards."

And you don't have to forgive or forget that.
Or believe the "club loyalty" bullshit that disappears like smoke at trade week.

The only truly loyal people are the fans, the blue though and through punters like you and me.
Cos we don't have anything to gain, no money, no fame, no percentage.
We just love the club, good times or bad.

And no matter what, we believe.

So pray you sinners.
Pray that the heroes we send out to play next year can achieve more than is humanly possible, just like they always do. That's why we love them, they defy logic, reason, rational thought and sometimes even gravity.

The Blues are my religion.
I don't need things to make sense.
I just wanna see the boys win.
