Sounds fair to me. We may have the worst list, we may struggle to win the ball and hit our targets, we may be suffering a lack of confidence, but in Kouta we truly have a Captain Marvel. He may very well be overpaid and he and Allison may have screwed the club for every penny, but I cannot believe there'd be one Carlton fan who does not get a chill up their spine when Kouta comes out of a pack of players busting them apart ball in one hand passing off to the advantage of a teammate. Knee injuries robbed the club and Anthony of some of his best years, but we have been privileged to watch this bloke play in the Navy Blue jumper. KOUTA. RESPECT. |

I'd go as far as saying he is the best, and most influential, captain we have had since Sticks. |

Big call. He hasn't had the players around him that Sticks had, and for all Kouta's on field brilliance I don't think he'd hold a candle to Sticks in terms of off field leadership. Makes you realise just how bloody good we had it with Kernahan. The more I see of Kouta on game day, the more I like, as I said, he really is a marvel. If only he had the likes of Silvagni, Bradley, Ratten, Dean, Sexton, Madden and the like to be lifted by his on field heroics. |

PJ......your my new best friend! ![]() Kouta is easily a much more honest, determined and (especially towards to kids) influential than Ratten, Bradley or McKay. Sure, i understand that Rat's had a bad run with Injury and at the time of handing the captaincy over to McKay, kouta was in the same boat as Rat's....but god damn he's has proved wuite a few people wrong with his leadership. Just think of it this way. Who out of all our players had the worst pre-season? That's right, the very same one who has not missed one minute of football and should easilly be winning our best & Fairest? |

I've always liked footy, and i would've always barracked for Carlton because of my aunty, but when i was about 6 and just loved footy, not Carlton in particular, Kouta was the reason why i would take that extra interest in the Blues and he was the bloke that made me sit down and watch the Blues. I remember the '99 prelim and just marvelling and what Kouta was doing in that last quarter. And i remember, for my birthday, my aunty got me a life size Kouta poster that said "To Chris, Happy 7th Birthday! Best Wishes Kouta!" Ahh the memories ![]() Good 'ol Kouta. You gotta love the guy. He's having a better season then the likes of Judd, Ball and all the other young guns. I actually reckon Kotua's career is underrated, especially this season. |

If Kouta is prepared to play for us for what is a reasonable amount and he gets rid of that reprehensible fertilized turd of a human being David Allison as a manager, then I believe there is another 3 years left for Kouta as an AFL player. This year and 2006 as an "extractor" of the ball in the mid-field - then once we have developed more mid-field support in 2007 he would make an excellent foil in the goal square to a leading Fevola. |

Given that we've had Bradley and the short terms of Ratten and McKay since the big fella I don't think you're too far wrong there. |

I think Kouta is into his second last year at the club. I feel sorry for him really. He tries but he doesnt have the back up and is not a natural leader. |
