Bret Thornton with 146 games to Round 20 (and should go to 148 by the end of Round 22) has played the most Carlton games before playing in a Carlton final.

Ernie Walton played his first Carlton final in his his 112th game (ended with 3 finals in his 120 games, started in 1897, first final in 1903 and finished in the 1904 GF), while John Chick played his first Carlton final in his 104th Carlton game (ended with 2 finals in his 119 games, started in 1952 final in 1959 and finished in 1960).

Probably explains some of his dummy spits in the past.
Good luck in the finals T-Bird.

Was at his first game at Subi and could possibly be at his first final. Time still does fly when you are not having fun...

The Blueseum wouldnt tend to worry about reporting much about the Tiggers!

Im told that Trevor Barker played 230 games without ever playing in a final!

On WIGGINS, I hope he plays in the Finals. I actually think he could become an X Factor.

More information to come.

Ernie Walton; could add another possible 36 games (1895 and 1896 seasons) to take his total to 148.
Let's hope Thorton plays at least 3 finals this year.

Of course, blueycarlton, you're right.

The article will hopefully go up on carltonfc.com.au today, and is provided below in its pre-publication format:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-read_artic ... icleId=114

Most of the players who've had to wait 100 games for a final are current players!

Poor bloke and playing as a defender

Nice to see it up in lights on the main site - first for the year we think :yikes:

And with team selection this, Thornton will play his first final in game 149!
