"I just look at a person like Simon Wiggins who has been at our football club since 2001 and never
played in finals and here's this opportunity … I think they need to understand that there has been people
working extremely hard for a long period of time."

Here's the article with that quote from Brett Ratten - but the article is only secondary to what I want to say.

I think it's bloody teriffic that Simon Wiggins is about to get his chance at playing in a final, as IMO there
is no player in our list that deserves a final appearance more than Wiggo. With him, you know that there
will be one player on the field that will be giving 100% even minute of the game. I know that both he
and the rest of the boys will do us proud.

Good stuff Wiggins, you bleed Navy Blue and you deserve it.

There's a few of them who will be playing in their first final, and a few who're playing their first final in Carlton colours.

Thanks

In all seriousness, I am rapt that The Chief will play his first final. He has a lot of knockers on this site, but he is one player that you can watch every game and know that he is giving his all for the club. Great clubman, who has worked on his game, never shirks a contest and someone who I believe is very important to our structure when played as a forward, and who has shown versatility in recent weeks down back. What can I say, I love the man.

Wiggo was recruited at a time when we thought finals footy was ours by birthright and I am sure not one of the senior players that welcomed him to the club would have expeted it to be this long before the lad got his first crack at it.

I hope he has his Fraser Brown moment at some stage in the finals.

I think someone on TC posted it a few weeks ago that Max Rooke is Geelong's barometer while Simon Wiggins is Carlton's barometer.

I have a feeling he is going to shine in September....

Wiggins is one player that you know would wrap up that tackle.

No pun intended.

I'd love to see us win a final for the old fellas at the club - they've deserved it.

Apart from Judd and Hadley - have there been any players that have played in a winning finals match?!

Fev kicked 4 in this finals match in 2000:

It was a win, so he has also played in a finals win.

Onya Wiggo! We never doubted you!

If he does have a Fraser Brown moment I'm worried about how he'll dispose of the resulting free kick?

Dear, oh dear....

I think T-Bird and Simmo are also very deserving, being from the class of 2002 when all the preverbial hit the fan. Shame Waitey wont be able to, hopefully next year.

Have always loved Wiggins and although not in our best 22 no one can doubt his true blue heart. I think everyone on TC in thier heart of hearts wishes he was just 10% more talented. Its just a real pity god could create such a fantastic human being and forget to dot the i and cross the t in regards to his football talent. So close and he really deserves to be an elite footballer for what he has given and will always give to CFC.

Having said that congratulations Wiggler I for one hope you sprout wings and simply destroy all before you come this series ... no one in my opinion deserves it more. If I had one wish it would be to extract your courage and commitment to the navy blue, bottle it and give it to a few others in the team!

I salute u chief hope u have a blinder against the crows!

Bu Brazil Believer...
The Wiggs is perfect just as he is.
Think of the team as one big blue body.
He is the right part that helps the overall health of the body.
His skills are exactly what are needed to bring the team together.
He could be like the gall bladder....an unsung hero that assists the liver...who gets all the attention...attracts all the big diseases...but the gall quietly works away...putting acid on the enemy....breaking it down.
Sorry Wiggs...I'm not really calling you a gall bladder...
I'm trying to say you are fabulous.
Now go out there and break down the Crows.

...gall bladder.

I would have said an appendix - a big pain in the arse when he gets fired up.

Like the game against the Doggies last year when he kicked four.

I was the guy behind the goals shouting "I love you Wiggo!"...
