We all saw the Livingstone disgrace, in that he wasnt paid a free kick, but what concerns me even more is the fact sheperding is allowed at all on the goal line.

Surely it should not matter whether the ball is going through the goals, or whether it is on the wing. If a player is impeded by another player deliberatly taking there eyes off the ball and trying to shepherd the ball surely it is a free kick for denying the player the ability to get to the drop zone.

Apparently in this day and age, you can do just about anything to shepherd the ball through, and i just cant fathom how this blatant breaking of the rules is allowed to continually go on.

it was a f***ing disgrace....thats all i can say...

maybe the ump was watching the ball go through the goal and only looked when they were both on the ground, thus the reason why nothing was called...he thought they both fell or tripped eachother...

Yes, nice explanation, except that the goal umpire was right in front of them!

I've started to term things like this as "giesches", in other words, incompetent, disgusting pathetic umpiring mistakes made through a lack of correct direction from the AFLs umpiring department.

I thought goal umps and boundary unps can advise a field umpire as to illegal things happening on the field, but not make the calls themselves.

The main problem with Gieschen is he is one of these extraordinarily incompetent people who actually think they are doing a good job.

Its not his fault its the fault of his boss, Adrian Anderson, but the main problem with Anderson is that he is one of these extraordinarily incompetent people who actually think they are doing a good job.

Its not his fault its the fault of his boss, Demetrispew, but the main problem with Demetrispew is he is just a complete tosspot.

either way, the moral of the story is umps are becoming sellouts, as is the game....its all becoming to commercialised and 75% of the people involved in the AFL love themselves or suffer from wankerneosis to some extent.....

It wouldn't have been so bad if Livo was shepherded from the goal line, but he was actually pulled off the goal line.

Yep - I don't have a problem with shepherding in the square. Why shouldn't a player be allowed to shepherd the ball through. Unfortunately what happened with Livo was more "body-slam" than shepherd... :?
