Where will we finish? Who will we play? When will it be? I can't believe there hasn't been a thread started on this yet. Warning - I'm doing this very quickly and there will be mistakes in the calculations So the equation is: We win 2 and Dogs lose 2 - 4th We win 2 and Dogs win 1 - 5th We win 1 and lose 1 - Adel and Dogs will be above us (dogs have good %) so we'll be either 6th if Bris win 1 or 7th if Bris win 2. Lose 2 - ain't gonna happen Who will we play? 4th - Stk 5th - Port or Ess 6th - Bris home 7th - Bris away When will we play (assuming Geel vs. Coll is a lock for Sat night MCG and Stk is a lock for MCG Sunday arvo) Saturday arvo cannot be MCG game as Geel Coll will be there at night. 4th - Sunday arvo MCG 5th - Fri night MCG or Sat Etihad 6th - Fri night or Sat 7th - Fri night away in Bris Does anyone know if Etihad are guaranteed a final? Let the speculation begin! Please correct any errors in my logic - important for that weekend's planning! |

If there is 3 Melbourne finals then there will be an Etihad game. That'll be us if we host an interstate team you'd think. If we play Essendon* then St K/Bulldogs will be Etihad |

The "We win 2 and Dogs win 1 - 5th " could see us finishing 4th. We need Geelong to give the Doggies a real pasting tomorrow night, and then we need to double that pasting on Melbourne. 10% is a big gap to make up, but it's possible. |

I think it will have to be Collingwood that gives the Dogs a belting not the Cats. If the Dogs are going to win one of their last two I think that they will win this week. |

The Western Bulldogs will beat Collingwood in Round 22. Unfortunately the Pies will have a top 4 position sewn up and won't over exert themselves.....their minds will be on the following week. |

If we win our final 2 and Bulldogs happen to beat one of either Pies or Cats, we can still finish 4th. Looking at the ladder now the Bulldogs have a +400 points difference (For - Agst) and we are +230 points. So basically we have to make up a 170 point gap. We really need to knock off Melbourne by 75+ and hope the Bulldogs lose to Geelong (or Collingwoood) by 60+. Then we'd need to make up about 5 goals in Round 22. It's definitely possible but it is going to be extremely tough. Doubt it will happen, our only 'real' hope is for Dogs to lose both. |

If Dogs win this week, then Pies and Dogs will be playing off for 3rd spot the following week. And who do you think hte Pies would rather play in the first final, St Kilda or Geelong ![]() |

budzy wrote: There's something not quite right at the cattery... ![]() Have been saying for 5 weeks...Geelong has Carlton 1996 and Essendon* 2001 written all over it. Dominated the competition for 2 years, winning 1 flag, dominated the first half of the 3rd year, fell away the second half of the third year, unable to keep up the intensity, overcome injury etc. As much as I hate to say it, the Saints better win the flag, cause if they don't, (shudder) Collingwood might. |

If we can finish 4th and then probably lose to St Kilda in the first week - we change groups and the finals race REALLY falls in our favour... ...so much so, I really start to get ahead of ourselves We would then miss Geelong and Essendon*, and play Bulldogs and Collingwood to get to the GF... THE LID'S OFF!!! |

Lets worry about Melb first...I say we go all out attack for 4 qtrs and lets see what happens. The most important thing now is a home final. |
