Robert Warnock poised to make debut for Carlton

Quote:
"He's an option for us now that he has played three (VFL) games. He's starting to get his game time up and he'll certainly be in the mix," Blues football manager Steven Icke said yesterday.

Warnock wore a GPS tracking device to chart how much ground he covered during a standout ruck performance with Northern Bullants at the weekend.

"He's certainly in consideration. His game at the weekend was the best of the three," Icke said.

If Hampson is not fit then have a look at the expense of Cloke.
If Hampson and Kruezer are healthy for the rest of the season then next year for your Mr Warnock.

Agreed, and also I'd only want 206 in the team if he's more up for it (for form and health) than Jacobs. He should be in the team because he deserves it, not for 'experimental' reasons against a lowly but committed opposition.

Ruled out, foot injury:

Quote:
And recruit Robert Warnock is unlikely to play his first game with the side against Melbourne on Saturday, also because of a foot injury, according to Ratten.

That boy needs to drink more milk or something. Either that or we build him an exoskeleton.

Does anyone know whether it is the same foot, same injury or something unrelated?

Blues coach Brett Ratten said this morning he was leaning towards not playing Robert Warnock in his first game for the year, but said if he did miss this weekend, it didn’t rule him out playing him in the finals.

Ratts never said he had another foot injury - listen to his presser never mentions it

The foot injury they are referring to is the original one

Robbo has the foot injury

Still think the exoskeleton would be a good idea.

Hopefully he doesnt play.
He is miles off the pace.

Its not the right time to be fiddling...

Keep going and hope he has a real pre season for next year...

Synners, why do you say fiddling? Kreuzer is our number 1, lets see how Warnock goes if Hammer doesn't come up. Cloke proved again he isn't a ruckman, we need to know where our backup plan is at.

Watching the guy on telly playing for the Bullants... he looked miles and miles off AFL league footy standard..
He has hardly played in 2 years.... he has blown out to 103 kilos... cos he hasnt run ...

usually players bulk up in the ps.. and once they start to run they shed abit... he has no match conditioning...were kidding ourselves if we believe he will just come in and make a difference at this stage of the season... the games are going to hot up and the players that arent up to the pace will be left for dead,,.

Cloke isnt the long term answer... but he does compete.. and he can position himself at the right spots...
We just have to go down the Hampson /Cloke road this year... i believe...

... with Warnock allowed to get himself right for next year...

Our improvement wont come from Warnock playing this year....how well we go in the finals will be determined by what we get out of our senior group... guys like Scotland.. Fev... Houlla.. Thornton.. Stevens... etc...

Thats where our finals season will be determined from this year... not Warnock...
I believe he will most likely throw things out of wack if he plays... he just hasnt covered the miles and his body is not hardened to play finals footy.. which will add more pressure on the team and especially K...

Thats my feeling...
