sos for coach? look at what he's done at st kilda. definitely food for thought. also love the thought of jimmy buckleys boy running round for the blue in a couple years time, from the bits they showed on TAC stars he looks much more like a dasher, not as bulky, and maybe more skilled than jimmy was, not to say jimmy wasnt an out and out champion. anyone know of any other father-sons coming up through the ranks. and why wouldnt carlton have looked closer at sheldon's boy. surely big jonny dorotich has a dozen or so illegitimate kids that are at about the right age by now? all i know is in about 18 years time there will be around 25 lads playing remarkably similar to our dear #25, all with different surnames...... |

Hey benf, welcome to TC. I have moved your original post re Buckley's son to the Recruitment thread. Any discussion regarding F/S picks need to move there. Regarding SOS as CFC coach, this is the place for it. ![]() Looking forward to the discussion on SOS as our coach. |

It is unlikely that SOS will coach at Carlton. By the time he is ready, his boys will be in our team. He will not want to coach them, maybe a role on the Match Committee awaits. |

he didnt rat anyone out on purpose. people only rat people out when theyve got something to gain personally from it, and what in heavens name could sos have 'gained' by singing to the afl? a brownlow? i think the AFL cross-examined him so hard that he slipped up just through sheer intimidation and persistent questioning, and im sure he didnt realise what he was saying when he said it. |

benf, What are your thoughts on Ratten as coach? He's doing a great job, wouldn't you agree? If we did make a change however, would you be in favour of appointing SOS straight out or going through an extensive interview process? |

we've taken a great step with ratten, im not denying that, but its essential we take another next year. im just worried that he wont know how to take the next step. silvagni seems to be learning (and experiencing) exactly that right now at st kilda under Lyon. i just dont know if ratten has the know-how. he sure would have learned a thing or two about losing as Danihers assistant at Melbourne......... |
