something we havent done for 8 years and people still complainen. a win is a win is a win is a win. sometimes good sides have bad trots and still win games. we've gone 4/5. in years gone by that would have been 1/5 with a couple of honourable performances thrown in. well here we are 1 win away for september action and whatever happens it's a damn lot better than what we've seen this decade

I think playing finals will do the playing group the world of good. A big loss in the finals can undo that good and the form we're currently in its not looking promising. Lets hope its starts clicking for us in the next few weeks!

But still, there are issues that need to be resolved (you know what im talking about)............... they won't

Last night I thought a lot of the players didn't look 100% fit
It was a very very tough game last night
The list is young and need a couple more preseasons under their belt
We lack depth in the 2's to rest players needing to get their body right
We lack depth on the bench to rotate class for class
Our lack of good disposal made it even harder than it had to be

I get what you mean.

But you're wrong.

The players don't look shot.

At half time, we were 2 goals down. 2 minutes into the 3rd, 3 goals. If the players were shot, they would have given it away then. But, their season was on the line, and they knew it. And they responded, and came back and won the match.

Yes, North lost it more than we won it, but if they had have slotted one of the missed goals, our guys may have responded. We don't know that. Maybe that's one of the questions the Jesuits like to ponder.

I see the glass very much as half full, and the barman's getting ready to top it up.

Like ur post KK and think u r right ... was never in any doubt we would win last night even when we went down by 18 and Mcavanie said ' Geez the Blues are in trouble now'.

Ok we are not travelling well ... but WE ARE GOING TO PLAY FINALS!!! YEAHHHHHHH

But like a few on here already that does concern me .... I just hope we start to fire in the next 4 weeks ... play good footy in the finals and win or lose give the players the confidence to say we belonged there ... not get our @rse handed to us with psycological baggage that comes with it to boot!

Hell, yeah, I'm concerned too if we don't show improvement in the next 4 weeks.

But I'm confident we will, and know we certainly can.

performances are not propaganda.

Where does this season sit in the pantheon of AFL footy seasons do you reckon?

Hardly any classica matches... 1 team hasnt lost in 17/18 games.. another team only 2 times...
... a few tankers...
... not many putting their hand up for finals..

just an absolute shithouse season of footy..

i think we have the talent, and (almost) the skillset. another preseason together and we SHOULD have immaculate skills and a great running game. the part where we suck completely is going forward. We NEED another gun forward option. Fev needs to shut the hell up, and play a team game, or seek a trade. his constant whinging at not getting the ball kicked to him, or kicked to him well, really pisses me off, because it makes just about every player on the field nervous about kicking it to another target. we cant win finals with one, obvious, predictable, useless forward tactic. i never thought id say it, but @#$%&!.. bring back the pagans paddock even.. and let someone play on-on one from the square and have others running back into the 50 and dropping into the space for easy marks. at the moment our forward 50 looks like a paddock of lost retarted dogs.
