Watching Ablett in the past two months has generated the following observations:

HE is collecting rather than earning possessions;

THE bulk of those possessions are coming in the defensive half of the ground;

HE is growing increasingly irritated by the attention he gets to the point of repeatedly looking to umpires for relief;

HIS last quarter returns are disturbingly modest.

Watching Ablett on Friday night, he was seriously skirting the edges of the pack waiting for Selwood to get the hard ball to him.

Not what we have come to expect.

Would seriously think he isn't close to the Brownlow this year.

It's why Greg Williams is still the best midfielder I've seen (though Wayne Johnston's still my favourite). Williams was more damaging than Judd AND regularly picked up 40 touches.
