I'm sick of coming on here after the team has a win to hear the nay sayers still moaning about gameplans and bagging players who didn't perform well on the night.

You people need to start enjoying your team for who they are NOW.

Yeah I want to see my team playing like the Saints and the Cats at present. But that won't happen this year or probably next year either.

The fact is we've won 4 out of our last five and from were we've been I'm stoked. Ask the Scum or the Dawks if they'd like a win.

Almost anyone can win on the day. North have a good record in getting up for special occasions, we could easily have dropped that one but fought on and took the points. One point would ahve been good enough for me.

I guess I'm just dissapointed when I jump on my teams chat forum after a win to read such negative stuff. I really don't know what enjoyment you people get out of supporting a footy team if all they see is the negative aspects.

With the thought process of "If we don't win the flag the seasons been a shocker" you are in for a lot of pain following any team.

The club, the coach and the team are certainly not beyound critisism but when the negative posts out weigh the positive ones about 3 - 1 it makes poor reading from SUPPORTERS.

I'd suggest some of the regulars on here are not Blues fans at all. Trawling can be easily veiled.

Lets see more good in the Navy blue. After all that's why MOST of us are here reading.

Heres hoping I'll be watching my team in September again

Wandering into the Gym on Saturday, it was one after another Carlton supporter moaning about how rubbish we are. Tiresome.

People should stop and think at the moment and reflect on two other teams that were placed in the same bracket as us last year

We had a sexy young team under a sexy new coach in Essendon* who were going to be 'better' than us and were are they on the ladder? Somewhere below us and will most likely miss the finals

OR

How about the so-called hotshot team with a hotshot coach in Richmond who have in true Richmond style imploded rather well this year. They are travelling so badly that potential coaches are withdrawing thier applications or have agreed to be assistants elsewhere.

For a crap team we are still mangeing to win games even if we are not playing well whereas two years ago we were inventing new ways to lose games.

Could we be better? Yep. Will we get better. Yep. Which is more than can said about some others in the competition.

It will be interesting this friday - cant see them winning it but form seems to mean nothing this year

I couldn't agree more a win is a win.

While I think it is good that we can have debate and discussions about our footy club I find it extremely frustrating coming on to this site to see what news there might be about the club or a player that I cant find elsewhere but instead I find all the negative comments far outweighing the positive comments.

Our goal at the start of the year was to play finals, which looks likely to happen.

All I ask is that when you are about the unload with a comment about how we are playing, our coach, our assistants, our development, our president etc just think of the above statement before you post.

Well said and great post i have been sick of all the negative remarks also and have always stated our goal is to win FInals after being in the wilderness for nearly the past decade well feels that way

RE the last 5 weeks we have won 4 out of the 5 and possibly you could say we havnt played well but got the 4 points

That will make up for the fact when we played well especially against the hawks and saints and should have won we didnt get the 4 points so hey at the end of the day as long as we keep winning and get a chance at Finals then we have improved and accomplished something this year compared to 2 years ago winning 4 games.

In real terms since we lost our first 3 last year, we have been the same for the last 19 matches last year, and the first 18 this year.

2008(after Round 3) 10-9
2009 10-8

In some ways we have improved (more consistency/game time out of Murph, Gibbs, Bower, Jamo, T-Bird, Judd, Kreuzer, Betts, Houlihan) and gone backwards in other areas (injury to Waite, Stevens not doing much, underdone Scotland, injury interruped Carazzo and Grigg).

We had a charmed run with injury last year, and a good run, but not as good a run as last year where our top 6 (Judd, Fev, Gibbs, Waite, Kreuz, Murph) barely missed a game between them. Losing Waite has been a massive blow to a side already with key position issues.

The scope for improvement is big, and we aren't going terribly at the moment, nor are we going that well. It could be a lot worse (we dodged a bullet the Freo game, don't be surprised if Port lose to them next week), and we have been beating the rubbish sides without doing anything special.

I have no doubt the side will get better as individuals improve, but the question remains, is Ratts the man to take us there when we are a top 4 side? (which I am almost certain will happen).

I'm glad there are some out there thinking like me. Thought I was on my own for a minute.

I have no doubt we are improving. Even if it is just games under belts. The Saints have been together for about 5-6 seasons, Geelong even longer and are now playing at there best. I'd suggest we've had 2 seasons together.

We'll have our time in the sun because "we are coming"

I have my reservations about Ratten at this stage, but still have some faith, we are 7th and 10-8.. We haven't made the finals in 8 years, there has been a lot of pressure on us to perform and expectation due to 'that' marketing slogan and our early eason formline.. In time will tell, I think we have a lot of improvement in us, I dare say though a Campbell Brown type (even if he is a little thuggish) would really help put some grunt in the side, with the club in the position it is now and with players who now want to be part of the CFC, I'm looking forward to what we come trade time....

But for now, lets look at finals!

It's not as if we can't see that there is still a lot of improvement to be made, but jeez, after the last 7 years it's nice to have anticipation every week instead of gloomy acceptance.

Who cares if we just "scrape" into the finals? The team can't gain valuable finals experience without being a part of it in the first place.

I'm not ready to say we are a monty for a place yet, but to be here at R19 with the chance of participating in a finals series again....YIPPEE!!!

You know what's worse than winning ugly, being the teams just below us in the fight for the 8 who lose, in one case lose in consecutive weeks to sides trying to lose. give me the "consistent winning ugly and the 2 games plus percentage (15%) in the 8 position" anyday. We know what we need to work on. Right now the next step is to experience finals. One step at a time.
