It seems to me that we have a series of part-timers as assistant coaches. Williams, Bradley, Lappin to name a few. Now, this is no personal attack on them, as they are among my favourite footballers, but why are part-time coaches being accommodated in an age of professionalism in football, and especially as we're looking to improve the team, and the team's position, and restore our club to its rightful position of greatness? I think I have an inkling as to part of the reason the three I named are with the Club, and I'm sure the usual suspects will claim it as gospel, but I'm not sold on that yet. I want the best team of coaches at our club, especially to help Ratten at this important stage of our development. If the part-timers are the best, then pay them properly to be a full-time part of the club. If not,get the best professional assistants to the club, and piss off the ones who aren't willing to give 100%. Until the part-timers are either at the club full-time and giving their all, or out, then we're going to be disjointed within the team. |

The buck stops with Ratts, KK, he appoints the team he wants and gets the job done, or not. I have a problem with Sticks being pres and maybe not being hard enough on Ratts, Ratts not being hard enough on his ex-team mates etc. That's why I say - Go for Buckley while he's available. |

KK, as far as I know, the breakdown of assistants are as follows: Full Time Riley Montgomery Lappin Development Teague Harvey Part Time Bradley Capuano Part Part Time Diesal Would that be correct? |

..agreed, AFL in general i believe still has a way to go towards matching the more professional sports, but i agree in many ways our team isn't as professional as it should be, and more importantly, as many of it's competitors are.. |

I have no problem with the buck stopping with Ratten. And I'm highly disappointed if he chose mates to help him out over picking the best possible professional assistants. And I'd be surprised if Pratt let him do that, given Pratt's oft-quoted mantra. |

DUC - your structure is correct, although I'd argue that Harvey is part-time. KK - Ratts had no say in the appointment of Lappin and Teague...these were appointments made as a bit of a trade-off for culling them from the list earlier than they wanted to...and whilst I've heard that Teague is on peanuts, I don't think he's the right man for the Bullants (or development) coaching job. That is something that must be fixed during the off-season. I'd also like to get Peter Sumich over as forwards coach...right now though I can't see that happening. Anyone wanting to get rid of Bradley as a part-timer - all I've got to say is "if only you knew"... |

Dr.SHERRIN wrote: Anyone wanting to get rid of Bradley as a part-timer - all I've got to say is "if only you knew"... What do you mean, Doc? My point of view is that I have no issue with him at the club, but would prefer him to commit 100% to the Club. No half-arse efforts, from the President down. |

Sneaking suspicion we don;t have the coin to spend up big in our footy department. With the figures released today maybe we can spend some money on quality individuals to join our football department. |

I'm thinking most money will be directed towards the redevlopment costs this year. Not sure how short we are after the Blue Believer program finishing. |

Teague is finding it difficult to balance the requests from the club re: Carlton listed players and what is best for the Bullants on gameday. |

Sticks has a role too. I see him in the coaches box everyweek. He must be doing something. |

They'll all be together screaching out a couple of bars of, "stand by your man" outside some hobfrauhaus in dowtown Munich. Then back to Melbourne to attend a seminar with keynote speaker Sir Les Patterson titled, "symbolic leadership in the modern organisation" |

woof wrote: Sticks has a role too. I see him in the coaches box everyweek. He must be doing something. Rubbish! I just spoke to a friend that works in the Coaches Box. He told me that Sticks does not spend everygame in the Coaches Box. He is definitely not there during home games and only is only present during some away matches. |

He could not possibly in the box during home games because he is doing his Presedential duties. My point is that he should not be in there at all unless he is conducting some sort of review. |
