This is the one, we MUST win this one!

Another 8-point match for us.

No reason why we can't win. Won't be a big one like last time.

Hell, I'll take a single point.

Today Franklin ands Fevola were successful by playing down the field at stages. It makes our game plan less predictable.

My changes would be:

In
- Jamison
- O'Hailpin

Out
- Hartlett
- ??

Walker to come back the following week against North.

the reason i want to win this is simple.

1. all i have heard is how good collingwood are the last couple months
2. all i have heard is how good Essendon* have been all year
3. all i have heard is how carlton has been dissappointing, maybe they arent as good as we all thought etc..

win this, and with the closeness of the top 8 this year, we could not only cement oursleves but actually give ourselves an outside chance for a top 4 spot.

saints to beat the crows this week, port to beat freo

and the ladder will be (not worried about geelong or saints)

bulldogs - 44 points - 128.72%
adelaide - 40 points - 112.45% (will be reduced slightly if they are beaten)
collingwood - 40 points - 112.21%
brisbane - 40 points - 108.98%
carlton - 36 points - 112.53%
Essendon* - 32 points - 101.34%
-------------------------------------
port adelaide - 32 points - 91.9 (but they will beat WC and boost their percentage)
hawthorn - 32 points - 92.65%

thats what shold happen.

carlton v collingwood (carlton to win)
geelong v hawthorn (Hawks to win)
saints v bulldogs (saints to win)
adelaide v port (port to win)
lions v north (lions to win)

we could be fifth, a game behind the lions and bulldogs, with north to follow the week after.

a massive week to really cement ot chances for a first finals birth for a long time.

Would be amazing to get walks in. I would love to win this game just to rub it in a little bit more to the filth

Let me help you there Humpers.... Out: take your pick of Fisher or Bentley, perhaps both and bring in Stevo if he shows something tomorrow or even walks

Who wants to bet that walks will be named in the side?

hang on. . .someone on TC applauding ratten's mobbbe he attempted against adelaide and was given sh*t for doing so?

What is this world coming to? Perhaps our coach ought to be commended by more than just isdonisgeorge.

Anyway onto those who shall not be named this friday night. . . Does anyone know if fraser is still out injured? That info helped me get on the hawks at $8 over 39points and rake in a fortune, and such info again would be sweet.

I think fisher deserves his spot. . .dunno how long an appendix takes to mend, but if jamo is no good then austin would get a go? Anderson has been very good and needs more games as he deserves his spot. I think bentley was again good enough to keep his spot (although if anyone must go it'd be him)

Johnno's ankle may be a worry but he finished the game well and looked ok, he played well, his kick-ins are such a welcome change from the days of luke livingston and cory mcgrath. Safe from omission despite any argument which may be raised.

Upon return, scotland didnt set the world on fire, but did pretty well when he got it, in our best 22 obviously and plays well against his old mob.

Yarran was impressive. The kid runs hard and presented well all day.

Fisher's efforts improved yet again, and forget that purple patch where he kicked 3 (should have been 4) in 8minutes, he did enough otherwise to warrant another match.

Hartlett struggled on the big guy white. BUT the swans kicked to a 1 on 1 contest, quickly and to advantage. So adam isnt totally in the sh*t for that first quarter and a bit. . Example of what i mean is look at how fev made bolton, roberts thompson etc look when we got it in quick. Granted fev is better than white, but please everyone keep the sh*t canning to yourselves. After all that rant, i'd drop him for jamo/ austin if jamo still not ok.

I acknowledge i've said above that bentley DESERVES another game, but the pies are a decent team and if stevo/walker perform in the 2's tomorrow then one/both must come into the team.

IN: jamison (austin if jamo still no good) stevens
OUT: hartlett, bentley

get ready for the fevola show! Cant wait to slap them and bring them back to reality!

I want to win because it's Collingwood.

Top 4 possibility. Four wins in a row. None of that matters as much as the simple truth that beating Collingwood is one of the best feelings Carlton can give. Anything good that happens after that is a bonus.

brown and presti may struggle to get up after a 6-day turnaround. if so, expect fev to have a field day on his bitch harry o. expect fev to have a field day either way. BRING ON LEIGH BROWN!!

Gotta drop Hartlett for this game. Everytime i saw him last week he was two metres behind a Sydney player. An absolutely terrible defender, he played a bit better up forward but was woeful down back. If Walker performs ok today then i dont think it would be too premature to bring him back, or even Stevens if he plays well and trains the house down. Jamieson and Setanta definite ins if they are fit.

Mitch has been out suspended for an off-the-ball incident that was pretty ordinary by all accounts. Back in the 2s this week

When we flogged them by 50 points earlier in the year it felt very hollow. A win this time will be the opposite feeling.

Going to be interesting if Carlos and Jamo come up ready to play, especially if there are some good performances in the 2s today. Hartlett would appear to be on thin ice if anyone steps up, beyond that there are good reasons to argue for retaining Bentley, who did his job and offers a strong body, Anderson who showed good and bad, Scotto who was poor but is a quality player who performs well against his old side and gives experience, Johnson who showed some courage this week and offers quality disposal, albeit inconsistent, and Russell, though you could mount an argument for dropping each as well. Joseph hardly touched the ball and has been low on stats of late, but again I thought did his job as a negator, though some beg to differ. Dare they bring Walker up after only 1 run? (I wouldn't, but can see the temptation.) Will be very interesting IMO.

AJ on Didak is a must. Last night McGlynn showed how fragile that cock is when someone gets under his skin, AJ is the man to do the job this week.

We must be careful not to go too tall. I think we were against the Tigers and Freo. Will be interesting if Jamo and Satanta both are ready for recalls. Hartlett will go but is there really room for both satanta and fisher.
Too much lumber in such a forward line i reckon.

Post subject:  Re: R17: Carlton v Filth (pre match discussion)

If Jamo is fit he must come in. Medhurst is his bitch. With the Irishman, his mobility means we can move him all over the ground while Fish and Fev hole up in the F50 (or helping in the ruck if Kreuz is used as a permanent forward again). Setanta ticks many boxes so should come in if fit. Hartlett is the obvious choice to leave, not sure who else (Bentley?)

And of course, there's Walker and Stevo...

I know he kicked 3 goals at a crucial time, but Fisher was very very ordinary for the other 110 minutes of the game.

Setanta offers much, much more then Fisher and I dont think we can carry them both in the forward line.

If Irish is fit....

In: Setanta
Out: Fisher
