Really like the way he's coming along now.

Yeah he made some mistakes yesterday but overall he's really coming out of his shell and starting to blossom.

It was absolutely crucial that he kicked on and is a big relief to all that he is.

Really helping and so important to the list structure.

A big tick to the recruiters and the developers.

Made a great supporting run down the right wing for us in the first quarter that really grabbed my attention.

Thought it was Russell steaming along, scooping the ball off the deck cleanly at full stretch and dishing it off to a team mate in space, only to look closer and realise it was Austin.

May not have the elite burst for a FB but just keeps motoring.

I think Jamo will take the goalsquare fullforwards and Aussie will play a more mobile role up the field.

I thought he was absolutely atrocious yesterday. Very undisciplined

cant stop laughing that yet another player got reported for belting suban. . . can only hope they play sydney again and have barry hall put him on his ass for good as an exit to his career before barry goes into boxing.

As for aussie, i think mcpharlin beat him yesterday, but he also had some important touches in close contests. I like him as a player, he'll get more games before hopefully holding a fulltime position next year.

Was on the Aussie bandwagon two years ago... :smoking:
He's versatile, a potential swingman and wingman.
How about a carousel around CHB, CHF and wing in 2010 with Waite, O'Hailpin and Aussie?

He will be a good player , but the last 2 games have been very ordinary indeed .

Against Essendon* he was our worst player , and got towelled up by Freo as well .

Before that though , he was looking pretty good . Plenty of work to do , but he'll make the grade .

I dont mind him.....he showed some physicality towards that muppet Ballantyne and some others and I'm all for that, he just needs to get smarter and wiser and he will be a valuable player.
Like to see him persisted with down back and given the odd run down forward as he can take a mark and kick straight...
Needs the right opponents when down back and the coach has to be careful he doesnt get caught out in mismatches vs smarter ground players.....

Using 20/20 hindsight - with Aussie coming along so nicely - we actually may have been better off using Bower as the sweetener in the Judd deal.

Not saying I am not a fan of Bower (I am)- but with Jamo at Full Back, Austin at CHB with Thornton as the third tall defender - Bower and Austin are almost interchangeable - and Kennedy at CHF just about completes the spine with Waite and O'hAilpin the swingmen.

In this game, the 17 year old Austin was playing on the former Bulldog and Docker Hargraves who was well over 100 kgs at just 192 cms.

Austin showed he knew where to position himself as a backman, but was fighting out of his weight division against a former AFL player and gun SANFL forward.

Gibbs thought it was funny.

That would have taken our problem at one end and put it at the other, really.

It wasn't really an option anyway. West Coast wanted Kennedy and that was that.

Bower has been much better than Kennedy since the trade anyway.
