Anthopidies There was nothng wrong with Scotland's game in the first half at least, from my vantage point on the couch. After half time i wasn't in analytical mode shall we say. Can anyone here explain what Scotty did to deserve being dropped? |

Perhaps making a statement is more important (and he's injured and needs a break???) I'm guessing there was a "see how you feel after the break" ...and he wasx sore after the game so a "rest" is warranted? Just a guess??? |

Abit knee jerk with Scotto ...he has been ok... considering his pre season.. .. but if you lose playing kids you can always wheel out the old "you expect kids to be up and down.. theyre just kids... we had x amount of players who have plaeyed less than x amount of games" Stevo i agree with.... poor... pathetic.. disgraceful... and just not AFL grade atm. Houla looks injured cant run cant kick... he seems to have abit of OP i reckon... |

Scotland has played some quiet games this year and a couple of poor ones, but he was one of our few decent players last week - he's been better than I expected after his pre-season. He's been a bloody solid player for a while now and I reckon he's copping a raw deal. Was he not doing the "team things" or something? |

Scotto mustn't have done what was asked and required of him by the MC/Coach. That's probably the long and short of it. |

Not sure why we don't play Scotland on the ball more in spurts. |

Scotland missed out on preseason, due to his hip operation. Elite Performance schedule seems to have him playing two or three games on the trot, and reduce his workload in the two's. He may be on a modified program to ensure he can bridge the gap by the end of the year, whilst keeping him in tune for the first's. Go Blues!!! |

Look noone knows why Russell wasnt drropped.. nobody know what his role was... nobody knows how he broke back into thje team without playing well in the ressies... nobody knows why russell is not asked to do anything different to whatever hes done in the last 40 games to develop... nobody knows why a fast guy at trials like russell is not asked to play a more running style .... noone knows.... i bet ratts doesnt even know.... i know they think "he has the build the athleticism and the tools to make it when it clicks".... thats what a horses mouth told me last year... We play Russell in the hope he will turn the corner... cos "he has the build.. the speed... and the tools for modern daay footballer" |

If he was being rested as part of his program I'm sure the club would respect him enough to mention it to the media. |

I've been through this a dozen times over the last few months: at the moment there are not many names before Russell's. Until a couple of kids develop and a couple of other players come back from injury, he'll be amongst a group of five names that will be bandied about at the selection table. When we've made five changes, it's not hard for him to get a guernsey. |

A bit tough on Scotto. He missed the preseason due to poor management by Ratts. He is the only bloke in our team to be knocked out cold running blindsided into a marking contest. Missed his brothers wedding to play for us in round 3 and was dropped the very next week after a not so bad game. |

Whilst the feral element will knock his every move, he was considered by the club to be second best for the Bullants last week, which is much more important than internet warrior's "opinions". |

As much as I'm not a huge JR fan, his 10 tackles last week tells us he put enormous pressure on the opposition when they had the ball. Something 22 Carlton players failed to do. I'm happy for Ratts to drop some front runners and bring in some hard workers if it makes a statement to the group. As for Scotland, no one here knows his true role last week. Did he follow instructions? Did he play the game the team expected of him? I would assume not. As much as some see Ratten as the reason for all the worlds ills, he's not going to drop a good player and jeopardise our chances for laughs. It's pretty funny actually. Some posters bag Ratten for having a boys club and not showing courage at selection. When he makes the hard calls and drops players, he gets criticised anyway. ![]() |

If Ratts is fair dinkum then the senior players dropped need at least 2 weeks in the magoos and never to return unless they are killing it as they should at that level. I look forward to the bullants reports for the next couple of weeks even more than usual. |

Well, it's good to see that Ratts makes the hard decisions and isn't influenced by Sticks and the rest of the administration. Some posters are claiming Ratts cant make the hard decisions. It's good to see those claims dispelled. ![]() |

Agree. I'm now officially worried about the coach and MC. Once again they're being too smart for themselves. They're trying to make a statement but it's obvious where their loyalties lie. If I were Scotto in particular, I'd be punching lockers on my way out. If it's about attitude - his is miles ahead of Fev's. If it's about ability - he's millions of miles ahead of Russell/Armfield. |
