Post subject:  Is there player discontent?????

A question to the "insiders" amongst us here.

With player meetings going on and an unhappy father publicly bagging his sons non-selection, is there player discontent at Carlton?
Is there a player/coach(ing staff) problem?

1. The player meeting was not that type of meeting. It was about a group taking a good hard look at itself in the mirror. Nothing to do with DP.

2. There is no proof the guy on the radio was who he said he was.

3. Linking the two together is pure fiction in your own mind Budzy.

I agree Cazzesman that the Players' meeting just can't be viewed as a sign of dissension. It was a public statement that the players needed to get their act together. After all, it was a meeting that took place shortly before training. And it was publicised no doubt in conjunction with the club.

You'd think that a mutinous meeting would be held in secret, and away from the club. And if news got out about such a meeting, you'd think it would be because the rebels would be all too willing to tell the media about their concerns.

This is an example of how hard it is to pull out of a nosedive. Even events that are intended to show solidarity are interpreted in a paranoid fashion to suggest disunity.

But the issue with Jordan Bannister is different. If the caller was not his father, surely there will have to be a very public statement made to this effect, and it should be done quickly. If this does not happen, the silence will be deafening.

Mav even if it was his father......lets face it parents can be precious, can't they.

My neighbour recently took his 5 yr old to Oz Kick for the first time. 2 weeks later he is the coach

I spoke to him tonight and said...."How's it going"...He said..."It's started"

?????????

Apparently a number of parents.....of 5 and 6yr olds are already putting pressure on him to......'Play little Johnny at FF', "Why isn't little Johnny getting a run on the ball", Why isn't my boy getting a game" etc, etc, etc.

The poor bloke is not up to the pressure and has started smoking again. :?

If it was Jordy's father calling the ABC.......then I'm sure Jordy would be very embarrassed by the call. Jordy may be disappointed about being dropped (who wouldn't be) but I doubt he thinks he is the man to hold down CHF for the Blues.

If it was his dad then he needs to have a good hard look at himself and realise what pressure he has now brought to bare on his son. Does he really think anything he says will affect the selection group at CFC.

He's dreamin.

Sure, Cazzesman, it might be just a case of a tennis Dad running out of control. But there's a good chance he reflects Jordan's views. That is why it might be very embarrassing for Jordan - the private mutterings he expressed to his father unexpectedly get a public airing. If the caller was Jordan's father, his comments are most unfortunate at a time that our players need to play hard committed team football. And here we are lurching from Angwin's bulldust to these comments. Most unwelcome.

They were questions Cazzesman...not statements. Don't be so touchy.
