Just reckon both of these types are a bit rough round the edges, not exactly the most skillful. Which one do we think will make it? or will both make it? Does Anderson get a shot soon? I believe Joseph will make it. He has shown he tag well most weeks, and I reckon against St.Kilda he showed a touch of class too, that signposted maybe he can even go on-ball on his own right one day. But for now I have him as a virtual certain small BP/tagger for the future. But I'm still not convinced on Browne or Armfield, cause I think both can kick poorly when under pressure, and the latter also handballs poorly under pressure, sometimes. And as we saw last weekend Browne's first touch was off badly on the night. |

IMO Browne will definately. He has to play as often as possible to help him develop the consistency needed at AFL level, but the game he played against St Kilda is was what we can expect. Still needs work on his foot skills and decision making at times, but that's what our development team is employed for. IMO Armfield can make it. He also needs to develop the consistency and be used in the right manner. I think he should be used like Monica at Geelong, use his pace to breaks lines and take the game on from defence or a wing. Army has that natural instinct to attack and take players on, also has a good attack on the contest. |

Until they can produce consistent performances and not fluctuate with the teams fortunes the jury will be out. |

Browne is only a kid, who will improve heaps in the next few seasons. Didn't have a good one against Ess but he wasn't Robinson Crusoe there. 10 year player for mine. Armfield is 23 this year and not as much upside as Browney. Stands out at the moment for his leg speed and endeavour in our side, but skills need to go up a notch for him to be a long term player. |

There's no reason why they can't both make it if they improve enough. The Bombers (hate to use them as a reference but it's fresh in the mind and they're at a similar phase) have plenty of similar types of young smalls that aren't outstanding prodigies. Browne had a shocker last week - all the things he's shown he can do well he did poorly. Has to improve his concentration and decision-making, but I see no reason why that won't come with experience and hard work. Armfield is a chance with his pace, running ability and attitude, but I have my doubts over whether he'll ever have AFL class with disposal, especially seeing he's 3 years older than Browne. If he can't attain at least average usage skills by 2010 he's probably gone. |

They've both shown plenty in their 19 game careers so far. Time and experience.... |

Let's give them as many games as Russell and re-assess then... ![]() |

Browne has the attributes and Armfield can make it if he improves his disposal Both these guys are AFL standard whether they can improve to raise the club into the top 4, only time will tell They are part of the future by default because there are 12 players on our list who will go before they do Wiggins, Russel, Cloke, Edwards, Houlihan, Stevens(age), Hartlett, Bentick, Hadley, Scotland(age), Bentley, Pfeiffer. They have 2 to 3 seasons at least to improve, lets hope the club can develop them as I think they can. |

I think Browne has more potential to have a real impact, given the right development. I think Armfield will be a useful 2nd tier player, but I like him as a team player very much |

Yes they can make it. Don't know if they will but i'd say they are odds on. Browne looks like he will develop in to a very handy player. Armfield has some pace, will take a risk as doesn't look backwards as a first option. Admittedly his disposal needs work, but that is why we hire coaches. Both very early in to their careers, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they progress over the next couple of years. |

In terms of developing and playing them, I'd play them both ahead of Cloke, Fisher, Bannister, Stevens, Bentley, Bentick and Houlihan. |

Browney's a bit stiff to miss out this week after 1 poor game last week but he's made of the right stuff IMO and will bounce back. |
