Perhaps he is letting the opposition have easier shots at goal? Ultimately the buck stops with the coach whether it is fair or not is another matter. |

If we didn't play so wide around the boundary, our shots at goal would be easier and our conversion better. We rarely play through the centre. |

There was a stat that OTC had on Monday night about playing along the boundary. A lot of the top teams ie St Kilda, Doggies play along the boundary. Playing there doesn't help with your goal-kicking, but it isn't the sole reason for bad kicking. |

We have struggled to move the ball quickly into the fwd line and are way down on marks inside F50. Our run against St Kilda was unsustainable....how many left foot snaps from Bannister from 40 out will result in goals? |

If Last week was a regular thing I would be blaming Ratten too but the facts are in 10 of 13 games we've had more shots at goal than the opposition. If Ratten had a bad game plan and was being out coached this would not be the case. |

The players who SHOULD be able to kick winning scores each week are getting the pill in their hands, that is an indication something is working on-field. |

Look at the final scores of the 99 GF. Both sides has the same number of scoring shots. I don't like Mick Malthouse, but something he said resonates with me. I can't speak for anyone else of course, but he said the only stat that matters is which team has the highest number of points at the end of the 4th quarter. A novel stat, but that would be the one I'd like BR to trot out a bit more. |

Yes, it's a game plan which has put us in a position where were should have been able to win those matches. |

Brisbane would have won if they had appointed a coach who wasn't a former player and had coaching experience. Jobs for the boys are a killer. |

We've had 4 losses where we kicked ourselves out of it and there is not a single thing Ratten could have done to make our players convert those shots. That's a fact. |

..interesting discussion this one.. ..i remember many a pagan loss where we had more scoring shots too, and we all agree his gameplan was bogus.... ..the amount of scoring shots isn't a black and white indicator of anything i reckon.. ..as others have said, it's no point peppering the goalface with low-conversion shots and hoping a few go thru the big sticks.. ..i agree, Ratts isn't on field to kick the ball, but it's his tactics which to a certain degree dictate where those shots at goal come from.. ..it's his forwardline structure and strategy that dictates whether we're shooting from goal within 45 degree's or from tight 'freakish' angles.. ..whether shots are hurried, or whether players have time and space.. |

You know the gameplan is flawed by watching the game..... We dont block... we cant kick out... we cant move the ball on..... etc etc etc... Thats why you win games....because youre doing the basic things right.. Eddie kicks them out of his arse... (FREAK!) not many of our goals are structured.... We do ok cos we have some talent... no matter what people think we have better than average talent... just that other teams are drilled to play a more effective game.. |
