Benji had a great point in the 3AW interview thread.

Surely Fev is exactly the kind of marquee player that the Gold Coast would like to get some media attention as they start up?

He would be the perfect startup player - 3 or 4 years left in his career, instant media profile, will sell jumpers, will take the heat off their young forwards and draw extra defenders.

-If we had an offer on the table for a top 3 pick for Fev, would you honestly reject it?

only problem is we'll have to wait another year to do this. If they were coming in next year I think it would happen.

I've been saying it since the Freo game.

Works for all parties.

We don't not want to be pigeon-holed into having a "Fevola Era" where we achieve donuts until he retires.

This guy just doesn't have it upstairs. I cringe every time he is on the Footy Show, I mean i remember when he went public about his aspirations about becoming a kicker in the NFL during the Pagan era.

Nobody can get through to him. He said it himself he doesn't take Footy seriously.

He has had his chance and i have been a supporter his for too long he has let me down for the last time. I want him out of the club so we can collectively move forward as a football club.

Knowing Swanny last night would have been the final straw for him as well and is probably already put the wheels in motion to see where Gold Coast is at.

From memory Fev was stuffing up in 07 (was it?) and Swann was saying "last chance etc" and lobbied to get rid of Fev - do IRC?

This show has gotten old. At what point do we move on? FFFFFFS is Fev going to play in a flag at CFC?

If the educated guess is "extremely doubtful" + "poisonous effect on the group" + "we have nobody else to kick goals" I'd say let's do what we can to swallow the medicine and move him on. St Kilda were a better team for trading Lockett and Lockett was twice the player Fev is.

Who knows we might be better without relying on a narcissistic selfish undisciplined unreliable flowerwit who lets you down when the going gets tough.

Maybe the Dogs will look at Fev this year? Pick 14, 30 and Harbrow?
Hill? Cross? Addison? swap for Griffin and chuck in a pick of our own?

Take the best offer and trade before said club changes their mind.

Makes me laugh how our supporters think Gold Coast are just waiting to get rid of their draft picks for any player who becomes available.

We want to get rid of Fevola because he comes with a lot of baggage.

Other clubs know he comes with a lot of baggage so why would they pay an arm and a leg to get him when we don't even want him to play for us? (and we have to give no one up to get him).

As for the Gold Coast, their window of opportunity is even later than ours. Why would they want a 31 year old full-forward surrounded by 17 and 18 year old kids? So he could impart his 'wisdom' and develop them?

Gold Coast might have a lot of picks but they are not dumb, however, much we'd like to think. They gain nothing by giving up a top 10 (top 3? ) pick for Fev.

Forget it, trading Fevola time was back in 2005, just like Whitnall and Stevens, and we were too timid to make any of those calls. Have to live with what we've got now, for better or for worse.

wouldn't even think of doing this until Stevens is gone

No.
We need some sort of semblence of a forward line.
Fev will be 30 and with a year to go on his contract we would have to pay some of it, his currency will decline over the next two years.

Interesting comment from Mark Maclure on 774 this afternoon: "Since Richard Pratt passed on Fevola is a different person."
Was very happy we were at last getting some other marking options going in the forward line when Setanta took three contested marks in the first 13 minutes. And pleased that Setanta at long last had a chance to build his confidence.
Then Fevola bashes him up.
As Parkin (furious) and Matthews said "The man in front hasn't got eyes in the back of his head. Fevola should be protecting him, not mutilating him."
Setanta courageously got back on the field and contested another mark.
Couldn't believe it when Fevola did the same thing again.
Team mates are not impassive bystanders. What effect does this sort of thing have on team morale with Fevola intent on imposing his larger than life persona on all other players of both teams?
Curiously he enhances his own tenure with this stuff, making sure that other clubs would not have him as a leader for their younger players.

Fisher has been a casualty of Fev in the past, breaking his collar bone on one occasion.

The benefit to Gold Coast would have to be from a promotional point of view, not winning them a flag.

Anyway, I'm sure Fev would be much better behaved living up on the Gold Coast

Fev should be dropped for that reason alone.

Selfish in that passage of play the first time but to do it again, was just incredible.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he ended Lance Whitnall's season back in 2002 the same way. He is truly a joke, he is the exact opposite of a team player, if I was coaching a side I would use him as an example of how you should never behave.....and to think he's a leader at our club. :?

When we lose bad its the get rid of Fev knee jerk reaction thread........sorry but we lost because Essendon* are quicker, have more skill and are more intense.
They have built a better list .......and its embarrassing....

So you were happy with Fevs attitude, you think he's setting a fine example for our youngsters?

I have been crapping on about getting rid of Fevola since early last year and got shot down in flames. Same old Carlton, wait until a player has no currency and then have to delist him ie. Whitnall. I dont care if he kicks 200 games he continually brings his team mates down with him. Belting into Setanta at every opportunity cos he is in his way. The sooner we get rid of him the better. I just dont think the club has the balls to do it.

Not really - but I am starting to wonder what would happen if we played without fev. We have enough forwards to build a forward line - this would be their chance to stake their claim to the best 22. It is just not good enough to rock up each week to see which fev turns up. On top of this, he is not dominating any games this year so why not try something new.

I vote for
Out: Fev, Stevens, Hoops, Armfield
In: Anyone who wants to force their way into our team

Contracted till 2011.

Can't see him going anywhere.

One way or another is crucial to Rattens long term future as a senior coach.

I almost forgot about the Setanta incident.

Just watch that one play alone and you'll will find a selfish, immature egomaniac.

Setanta had the sit and was playing well until Fev being his usual self nearly broke his ribs by barreling into him instead of protecting his teammate.

Its beyond a joke now we have put up with enough of this rubbish.

Imagine how different things may have been if Brit's stayed on to coach and Fev got delisted?

He'd be collecting garbage for a living and not tormenting us a supporter group.

Listen to the way St Kilda leadership group are going about it at the moment we need professional footballer's not an 80's forward wannabe.

Will be crucial in his demise as coach most likely.
