Thanks for posting: that's a great Q&A, a lot more in-depth than these things tend to be.

"Walker ran the park by himself the other day in a time of 10:26 – I asked him whose car he was driving," Ratten said.

"If you run it in a group it drags you around a bit quicker so to run that time yourself is amazing. Juddy won a time trial [last November] in 10:33, so he's beaten that by himself.

Great interview, thanks for the link.

Brendan is one of the few extroverts at our club, along with Mitch Robinson, so we do need some balance overall and I think Brendan brings that.

Paf and I have often discussed the introverted nature of our list so to hear it from Ratten is pleasing...that we were right :)

The school our kids go to has a focus on 'emotional intelligence'. I think it's just another way to say 'wanky crap'.

It was a fad back in the 90s but it's carried through, so it holds some weight. The level-headed mature minded people might not ace the tests as well as some kids, but they'll lead successful lives because they can handle adversity. Common sense, but explores the scientific notions of it.

I enjoyed the article.

It seems to me that Ratten may have a very good relationship with the playing group.

I also agree that Fev has an important role to play for the younger kids as an ' die hard blueblooded ' ambassador.

Great interview, thanks for the link.

That was the biggest thing I took out of the interview.

Cannot wait until Tex gets back.

Liked the fact that he stood up and said how crap -the structure etc was in the Adelaide game ... have seen real strides in the team since then which shows as a playing group and coaching group everyone is learning from thier mistakes.
