Post subject:  The next four to shape our season

Starting with the Scum this week our next four rounds will determine our season. We will start all of these games as favourites, a tag that has not sat well with us recently.

I see the next four as an indication of firstly whether we can make the finals (and I think we will) and secondly how we will fare should we get there.

Playing close to our best football should see us win all of these next four. Hopefully we will see the return of the two W's to boost our team heading into the serious end of things.

A quick look further ahead (yes I know one week at a time) and I only see Geelong as a game where would not start favourites.

I think where a massive chance for top four but as we know a young team can be up and down. We've shown we can match the best but to be taken seriously we must beat teams below us.

I'll be watching the second half of the season with the most excitement I've had for years.

It starts this Friday night.... Go Blues

I think its the odd numbered games - this weeks, then the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th matches from here.

The 10th should be semi-important.

Seriously lets stop being one eyed and soft on the Baggers. If we dont win AT least 3 of the next 4 ( which means we have to beat Freo at Subi or Sydney who we can never beat ) we are not finals material. No reason why we cant win all 4 games!

Essendon* - should win
Fremantle - 50-50 in my opinion only because at Subi
Richmond - should win
Sydney - at dome, will probably lose ( we cant beat these blokes )
Collingwood - MUST WIN and snuff these clowns out, worst list yet they continue to win games ( Malthouse is a great coach )
Kangaroos - these blokes will be tanking if they know whats good for them, so must win
Geelong - loss
Port at AAMI - probably loss
Melb at Dome - WIN
Adelaide at Dome - should win

Something tells me we will lose a silly game we shouldnt! Like a Richmond or a kangaroos

So 12-10, should just make finals!

Come on blues, need to come home hard and go into finals with teams worried about playing us!
I dont care what anyone says, if we dont make finals, we are a laughing stock

Winning the next 10 should get us 3rd, with the subsequent Qualifying Final win over the Aints getting us into the Prelim.

From there, who knows

Nup I'm very confident we'll beat Sydney at the Dome....they are on the slide big time. After they lose to the Crows this week I think they might drop off significantly.
Port are another side that I think will drop off in the 2nd half of the season. Choco has been a very good coach but I think both he and the players know it is time for him to move on.

Yes, we will be favoured by having several games left against teams that are tanking, assuming there are clubs other than us that do it. We of course weren't tanking, we were just crap. Try telling that to others though.

We should be able to tear Sydney apart at the Dome.

We have been saying since R1 every game is crucial.

Bottom line is the lads need to bust their guts every week.

They need to learn to do this.

We cannot have any more of the Freo/Ess games where we go in half baked.

We will know in the first 5mins on Fri night whether we have learned our lesson or not, and quite frankly anyone who doesn't pull their finger out should be dumped to the Ants for 6 weeks as a penalty and a warning to the other players.

Complacency is unacceptable at this great club.

Winning is what it is all about.

If I hear another Fremantle player say how good it was they pushed the Catters, I will fair dinkum spew. They are like Richmond.

And I hope to God none of our players were satisfied with the narrow loss to the Saints, I hope there was no backslapping after the game.

I hope we never have such a mediocre culture.

Does this win me a Post of the Week award?

Using the ladder predictor I have us coming 7th.

- We will lose to Freo, Collingwood, Geelong and Adelaide IMO.
- Bombers have a tough run home.
- Going on form Cats and Saints don't lose again, although in all probability they will lose games.
- Lions also have a tough draw. They need to win home games.
- Swans I have finished for the year already, ditto Port.

1 Geelong 22 22 0 0 2557 1800 142.06 88
2 St Kilda 22 21 1 0 2304 1508 152.79 84

We have more chance of losing to Essendon* than we do with Collingwood.
What Essendon* has over us we have over Collingwood.

essendon- one of the big danger games left. . .we need a win. Any margin will do. Lose and suddenly we're forced to play catch-up from 6/7

Freo- another danger game, but important to prove the interstate win in brisbane wasnt a fluke

Richmond- should smash them. . Whether they tank, or rawlings gets something out of a rubbish side will be interesting to see.

Sydney- good time to gain confidence by breaking the drought just before the pies.

Collingwood- absolute filth. . .we're better than them. Malthouse's contract may begin to be an issue a month from now, could play a part.

North- should be tanking, but a danger game with harvey coming back

Geelong- never know but ill count it as a loss

Port- like the pies, williams' contract may be a factor come round 20. . . this mob arent any good, but being interstate its a danger game. . We should win though

Melbourne- by then it'll be all about tom scully. . Win

Adelaide- a good side, but in melbourne will make it a big match. . May be fighting for 4th spot, and a loss may even mean either side drop to 7th or 8th and miss a home final. . .important game. . Win

So 10games left. . .we need at least 5wins to make the 8, 6 should get us there. 7 or 8 wins could/should get us top 4. . . Lets count the cats game as a loss. . .and one of adelaide, collingwood, port, or freo as the danger games we let slip leaves us win 8 wins. . If we go a little less optimistic lets count 2 of those games as losses we should realistically win 7 more games which sits us 4th to 6th.

I think that we'll only lose one more game, but i am an optimistic fan and may discount port, collingwood and sydney a little more than i should.
