Just watching Judd last night take some heavy punishment and at the same time watching Murphy crunched at every opportunity off the pack, made me wonder just how valuable it would be to both Judd/Murphy if either one of Hadley or Bentick could make it back to some form in the seniors. Now i know there are plenty on this site who believe the game has passed both these gentlemen over. I for one think there still is a place for one of these two in our starting 22 and perhaps a spot for both on the list next year.

I can see Judd having a shortened career if he is made to be the first one in to almost every pack formation. I go back to the second Collingwood game last year as an example of just how AB played a great third quarter which split the game wide open by allowing Judd to roam a little more wide and be far more constructive. I think the same could be said for the game against the Tigers last year as well in the second half of the season.

If for nothing else but to extends Judd career, we need to have both these guys fighting for a position. They are not your modern day footballer but I still think that in our current set up, extremely valuable if fit and firing.

I undertsand AB is playing his first full game today since August last year. Hope both he and Hadley can fight their way back and I hope the MC retain a broader outlook on the composition of our list for next year and beyond.

I'm hoping the likes of Grigg, Browne and Robbo can carry out the inside midfielder role down the track. Gibbs will do more grunt work as he develops.
At the start of the year I was a fan of Hadley's however he has since been shown up for a lack of pace and seems to go missing for large parts of the game. I'd still prefer him to Bentick however who isn't really AFL standard IMO.

Hadley has a role to play in this midfield. His form mirrored that of the team's in the early part of the year. Better option than bentick for mine and knows how to protect other midfielders.

 Good pump preach. Big fan of AB and hope he has a great 2nd half of the year. Clubs need players like he and Banno to set the example even when they are struggling to get a regular game.

I think Hads can do the job.

He's a bit quicker and taller than AB.

Hope he can force his way back in soon.

Hadley needs to lift, not up to scratch at present. Not having a dip at him because there reasons are well documented and clear, but he needs to lift.

Prefer AB more as he not only block but can extract very well. Yet to see Hads do this so far.

I think there is a well documented history that shows we miss out on a lot of opportunities to clear quickly from stoppages when AB is involved in them.

He's a strong body sure, but he's the wrong size for his style of play and it shows when blokes wrap him up. He has to throw his whole body around to break loose, if he breaks loose at all.

Sums it up perfectly, both just handy depth players now. Grigg, for one, looks perfect for that role.

I'm an AB fan. I love the way he goes about it, and if he's got someone to dish it out to he would. In the past there has been no plan to do so and has held the ball in most times to avoid the opposition getting it.

I think the lack of pace as the reason for their ommission from consideration is bulldust for both AB and Hadley. Their type has a role to play unless there are better candidates.

They both contribute in other ways.

I've seen Hadley miss out on possessions when he has made space because of clangers.
I have seen the importance of AB in the clinches.

Whether they remain on the list or not is the MC's call.

Russell imo has the body and strength to play the role they play too.

I prefer the likes of Judd, Murphy and Gibbs, along with Stevens to be given the opportunity to do what is best for the team; precision passing to advantage.

Neither did enough today to get promoted, but it was AB's 2nd or 3rd game back.

If Hadley doesn't win effective clearances then he's like a statue around the ground...gets exploited by his opponent through a lack of pace and can't win any uncontested ball...if he does his disposal isn't up to scratch.

At this stage you'd think at least one of them will be cut at season's end, and I'd have pretty long odds against either remaining on the list post 2010.

Between AJ, Grigg, Robbo and Browne, we have tough young players with some tricks that can develop into midfielders. Hads and Bento are starting to look like last year's model - faded, slow and obsolete.

Id like to see if OKeefe can do the Bartel inside role.

on the money ... maybe pick up a KPP with a high draft pick and Hadley in the mix? Would even throw in Bento if they wanted!

Agree.

I'd prefer Hadley, cleaner ball user by foot and more penetrating by hand.

Neither.... too slow the pair of 'em

Grigg and Bannister or Carrazzo would do the job better

Boy, that's an interesting long range call. Very left-field at this stage I'd think. Would probably be 3-4 years away from that seeing as he's a fair way off AFL even as a half back.

Have to say I haven't seen as much gold from ROK as I'd hoped.
