No argument from me . He's a great player for us .

Certainly sets a standard with his courage, which has been evident the last few weeks.

I've been a critic in the past, I didn't think he hurt teams much, despite getting a lot of the ball.

Its not meant to be funny and it wont be the last time. :wink:

Please enough with this historical revisionism. Courageous player, I will give him. I have issues with him in the backline as I find his playing style too loose and selfish in the way he does not lay it off immediately and tries to beat his opponent forcing him to kick under pressure.

In our current starting line up but not for too long. As for vice captaincy. No way in hell. I see him as a solid half forward and prefer him playing up.

He, he, he... I've been a critic. But this season he has well and truly stepped up. In fact, for all the criticism of player development on here, I'd say that Simmo, Scotland, and Waite have all enjoyed far better seasons in 2009 than in 2008. Scotland and Waite have been in career best form in my view. Good to see us extracting maximum benefit from blokes in the mid-late stages of their careers at last.

Had a few seasons where this was not the case and I was probably his biggest critic. Had a few off field issues and was going through the motions. Since Judd and younger boys have arrived he has taken on a leadership role and leads by both words and actions. His family life is settled, he's now married with a little one and if Stevens cannot go on at AFL level next year as some have suggested, Heath would make an excellent vice-captain IMO. How stupid Collingwood were to let him go. We are a much better side with Heath Scotland a part of it.

Always been a fan of Scotland. Even when he was criticised (yes even in 2009) for ring a ringa rosey (like Thornton) my guess is that has something to do with the coach's instructions. The amazing thing is he can pull off the ringa rosey in traffic which isn't easy. I love it when he's in the middle. Big body. Aggressive. Ball player. Love the way he frees his hands. Good skills on both sides. The most important factor is that he can break lines and deliver. When he was at the Pies and played 2 GF's in a row, he was a goal kicker. Mr Versatile. Can'y wait till Walker is back, because then we can afford to have one of these 2 player forward of the HB line. I really hope we can win a flag for him (and us ofcourse).

Conundrum Mate he is so crucial to our run out of defence. I think we've won once without him in the side and every game with him in the side. Speaks volumes. Just a little lesson in football: Beating the man in front of him creates space and run up the ground. When he hasn't played, we've had zilch run out of defence and most players unwilling to take a risk. What you're saying suggests you don't want him taking risks. Are you serious? Absolutely crucial to our side and those that don't see it just don't want to IMO.
