YAY!!! GAME DAY IN BRISBANE!!!

I've got my Carlton Hat, My Carlton Guernsey, Carlton shirt and Carlton Jacket all ready to go! (Still can't find the Carlton scarf - damn children!)

On a related note, if you hear of a fat man in blue collapsing near the Gabba - tell them to treat heat exhaustion first!! ;)

Looking forward to this - it's as important as a round 11 match can be!! Go the BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEESSSS!!!!

Spectacular winters day in SE Qld. Hopefully the boys don't treat it as a hooligans holiday. Blues by 37 points. I am predicting similar night time conditions as the GC game so some resin or grippo may be in order...

Any new on which/how many of our emergencies made thr trip to the Gabba ??? I am hoping EVERYONE is 100% fit if they are playing (I am looking at you Carrazzo and your hand, and you Jamo and your shoulder). If they are not then bring back Robinson for Carrazzo and Austin for Jamison.

Would like to see AJ on Hooper and Grigg on Johnson. Shutting down Drummond is important as he gives them lots of drive out of defense, and he is in my opponent's SC teams this week .............. Was going to say Browne on Drummond (Remember hearing earlier in the year that Browne was having a good time in the Ants playing as a defensive forward, but I could be wrong) but I think Drummond in a little tall for him so Carazzo can do the job IMO. Their main midfielders are Power and Black. Power has been in pretty bad form of late, but Black needs to be shut down. Maybe run Gibbs on Black, make him accountable and try and work him the other way too .............

The Lions are going to have their work cut out for them stopping Murphy and Judd, who have both been in GREAT form of late. Not sure what their tagging options are like, so it will be inetresting to see how they go.

Bradshaw and Brown up forward is a problem. We need defensive pressure through the midfield to restrict the flow of ball into the forward line, and to push them out wide. Bradshaw has been hinted as a possible option down back for the Lions, so lets take advantage of that. Play Kreuzer, Fev and Fisher up forward and see if we can drag Bradshaw back there. Betts and Garlett are both great crumbers and supply great forwardline pressure (as does Kreuzer and Fev at times), and Browne/Carazzo playing as a defensive forward would add to that.

Anyway, thats my ramblings for the moment. Back to the lab to see how my yeast are growing (pls no STD jokes ...............)

Aussie and Robbo both playing for the ants. Looks like JR has made the trip up to Brissie.

Fev have a drink last night?

http://www.prowess.com.au/pro-stats/formguide.pdf

The key to winning tonight is another fast start and to hold Brisbane at bay in the third quarter, pretty much like the Round 2 encounter. So far in 2009 Carlton has won an amazing 60% of first quarters, 90% of second and 61% of last, the big issue has been the third quarter where we have won only 35% of quarters.

Hunger and intensity we will win, we all say the same thing every week. Lions will make us pay if we don't turn up to play.

PS: Judging by the North vs Saints game we could finish the mid season run in with a chance of 3 in a row. Saints are starting to fade, either that or the marketing team have said The Winning Streak II is only worth something if we keep the streak at 10wins.

Not sure where to post this with the Players section being closed

But just watching Motagna he reminds me a bit about Aaron Joseph.......or should i say the other way round.

Theyre both a similar height, weight and can both read the play pretty well. No doubt josephs engine is getting bigger and bigger with more preseasons. I think in a few seasons time he`d have learnt a heap from tagging all these good players and may very well follow montagna and become an A Grade midfielder. Anyone else see a resemblance?

Feelin good about our chance tonight!

Agree brad. Montagna might be a touch more polished with disposal but AJ might have him covered in the intensity stakes.

AJ's been tremendous this year. Hope he keeps it going tonight.

Real 8-point match tonight.

There's no reason we shouldn't be able to win tonight.

First match of the season where we're not favourites.

We need a fast start with height up forward.
If we can force Bradshaw down back, it will make the job far easier for our backs.

..nahh, reckon it's worse for us if Bradshaw goes back.. ..he's not the tallest KPP goin' around, but he's v.good as a defender as well as a forward.. ..i reckon he'll limit Fev too much if he goes down back..

Fingers crossed it wil be my second victory at the Gabba since moving to Brisbane.
