the boys and caro from 3AW are talking Carlton few things mentioned.........

- Nick Stevens was on and said the neck is fine its just general soreness. He receives treatment on the neck everyday. Its easy to aggravate. Said all the boys have to lift. Said he feels sorry for Fev cause he cops all the blame when they lose when everyone should be blamed

- Everyone absolutely bemused with our structure especially kicking into the wind in the first quarter

- Tony Shaw said 'the way Fev was used in the first quarter was as ridiculous as i've seen in a coaching role'

- Robert Walls said if he was coaching against Carlton he would love seeing Fev outside of the 50

- Questioning Bryce Gibbs and Murphys defensive pressure

- A caller rang through asking if they think there is to much ex Carlton influence in the coaching box. They don't think thats an issue with Montogomery, Harvey and RIley

- Tony Shaw has doubts about Armfield, Robbo and Austins ability

- Saying Yarran is about two years away from getting his fitness to AFL level. They agree Ziebel and Rich miles ahead of him

- Judd gets no protection from any of his team mates which is a waste

- They think Houlihan is in our best 22 only cause of his skills

- For Carlton to be a top 5 side Simon Wiggins wont be part of it

- Shaw thinks Robbo lacks leg speed and is a worry

- The best point made by Walls that to many players in previous years got games because we are bottom 4 side and now that we're on the way up some of them are being found out and turned over

- They like the look of Hampson and Kruezer

Intersting comment about Tyson Stenglein not getting a game at WCE and how he was a great blocker at stoppages
for Judd.

Nah. He said he don't blame Fev for the loss. He did bring up that its frustrating that you just don't know which Fev will turn up

Caro said both Walls and Shaw are jumping the gun a bit writing off Carlton already

Could Russel play this role.

Maybe our coach isn't smart enough to develop a plan like this.

Besides them having Stevens on I don't listen to them.

Shaw and Walls change their mind every 5 seconds and offer little insight when it comes to gameplans, list structures/stages of development. They don't understand the onfield issues affecting each club, as commentators they should have some idea but they don't.

I have my doubts about Tony Shaw's ability.

A lot of people are seeing more in Hampson than I am.

Well there you go...that's why I don't listen

I have doubts on Armfield due to his disposal but for him to judge Austin and Robbo at this stage of their careers is incredible.

How does he get a gig in the media? Robbo's played less than 10 games, same with Austin.

He has no idea on their junior careers and what type of player they are.

They were commenting on yesterdays game.

They were pretty much taking a swipe at Ratten with out actually saying it.

I think Shaw was a garbologist in his previous life.

He still talks garbage

..Effes, that's a strange post.. ..how many more games do you think Army has played compared to those two you mentioned..?.. ..Army would be lucky to have played half a season of seniors (not consecutively either)..

I dunno, Robbo looked pretty good when he slammed shaw's nephew last week and put one through from 40 metres out with the resulting spillage. Austin, he has clearly picked a young player at random to question. Armfield he is right, but if you talk enough shit you're bound to get something right

You are right when it comes to games played but Armfield has a 2 or so years on the others IIRC. He has shown no improvement in terms of disposal/decision making. The others have shown they can hit targets and make the right decisions.

Tony just takes a guess. You only have to listen to his commentry yesterday.

We could have had Carey, Brown and S.Johnston in our forward line in the first quarter and it would not have made a difference. We barely got our hands on it.

Did Shaw say that Ziebel and Rich's lack of leg speed is a worry (as well as Robbo)?
When comparing Yarran with Rich/Ziebel did he comment on leg speed?

Shaw and Walls really don't think things through sometimes.

Commentators and special comments people talk a lot of rubbish, but did anyone hear during the coverage yesterday (last quarter) when Tony Shaw said he thought Armfield lacked pace?!

Comments like that probably tell you all you need to know about him.

Everyone, including blind Freedy, knows that Houla is ahead of Wiggins in class...and in our best 22.
Wiggo has peaked...got to his 100 games, and whilst I was expecting a miracle to happen (based on NAB form)...it's over.

Get Houla in the forwardline and lets play to kick a winning score.
