Interesting article on CFC. http://www.carltonfc.com.au/season2008/ ... fault.aspx Saw Parko on AFL Team last night listing his top 5. Got me thinking, so many great players from the club how do you pick them. Anyway I'll try. I have only gone for guys in the last 30 years as it is extremely hard to judge prior to that. In order 1. Kernahan - Just was always there when we needed him. Ultimate Leader. True Blue 2. Silvagni - FB of the Century who could have easily been a star FF. 3. Doull - Just never made a mistake and attacked. Could of easily fitted into todays game. 4. Jezza - Probably the most talented. Kicked the ton, played centre and ended in a back pocket. 5. Nicholls - Played way above his height. Efforts in 1972 won the flag. Great leader. Apologies to Bradley, Johnston, Kouta, Buzz, Hunter etc. I have trouble including guys that play a lot of games at other clubs ala Williams |

Best I've ever seen...(as posted by Billy the Blue) Jezza, Kouta, Williams ...the most admired Doull and Big Nick - sides were intimidating with those two in the team and took no crap. Reminded of Robert Walls' comment about the Premiership re-union that he couldn't go to due to media commitments - Got a call from Big Nick who asked "are you coming?" and Walls said "Yes...yes, I'll be there" apologies to a ton of players...but that's how hard this is. - Kerna, Dominator, the Buzz, Judd, Bradley, Mots, Dean, ... |

My top 5 (that i've seen) 1. Sos 2. Judd 3. Kouta 4. Sticks 5. Diesel Yes, i have Judd at 2. That's not a mistake. He is an amazing athlete and has alreay won a B&F for the club! Easilly in the top 5. Sos as the best cause quite simply, defenders don't get nearly enough attention and praise and SOS was the greatest ever! |

1. THE SMURF 2. Gibbs 3. THE KROOOOOZE MISSILE 4. WAITE 5. BETTS / Warnock (depending if he reaches his potential) all young enough and talented enough to win 5 premierships back to back with the BLUEBOYZ ... wouldn´t that make them the top 5? Special mention, JUDD (4 premierships as captain before retiring) FEV - 2 premierships, 2 more coleman medels (including a 110 goal season, leading club goal kicker and yes he finally grew up! Yarran - 5 premierships, 60 goal a season career average. Sorry could not help myself. For mine though Kerna - will never forget the kick after the siren final round 1987 against the Kangas, true leader, lots of man love. Won us the premiership due to that kick in my opinion. 2. Williams - we rejected him so even though a Swan first was always true blue. Lotsa man love. No one could do what he did ... except Judd of course AKA handball to Yarran against the Pies. 3. The dominator - just a smidgen less inspirational as a leader as Kerna ... one true hard nut who changed the course of countless games - 4 premierships nuff said. 4. SOS .... FB of the century ... only modernday player (at the time on the list ... love for his missus ... salavating at the prospect of his 3 boys putting on the navy blue one day ... strong genes. 5. Jezza - only barely remember him but used to be in the streets screaming his name trying to take speccies as a 5 year old ... so was everyone else Blue or not for that matter ... transended club level support in the same way YAABLEEEEET did. And he was ours. |

1. SOS, best swing man the games ever seen 2. Williams, best skills I've ever seen 3. Kernahan, come the moment, come the man. Is there a better grand final record? 4. Bradley, just a freak. Skill, poise and professionalism 5. Johnston, second only to sticks on the big stage, loved watching him play Collingwood Apologies to Kouta, Doull, Madden and McKay |

I'll have a go DUC, unlike that silly Darknavy fella. 1. Doull 2. Jezza 3. Kernahan 4. Silvagni 5. Williams Of the players I've seen (from 1975 onwards) Doull was peerless. Unfortunately only caught the last 5 years of Jezza, otherwise he may have gone at 1. Didn't see Nicholls play, but dad says he was the best of all. Apologies to Southby, Johnston and Fitzpatrick. I didn't consider Judd due to lack of games. |

when writing this article I must admit that Sticks never really came into my top 3. I know he was great but he was never that great to me. |

Springsteen wrote: DownUnderChick wrote: As mentioned above, stick to the topic. Is life so serious people can't have a joke? Life isn't serious Springsteen, but had you coupled your post with a legit Top 5, it probably would not have resulted in another stick to the topic. |
