My mother loved Sydney Jackson, and loved Carlton for giving him a chance in a white Australia.

I should have become a Doggies supporter having uncle Teddy (Whitten) next door, but there was only one team that was truly multicultural back then, and at the time an underdog (Doggies having won in '56 and Carlton in the 40's) with names like Jesaulenko, Silvagni, Barrassi, Pavlou and the likes of Syd Jackson...
