Had an absolute cracking start to the season be it in defence, forward or clashing wit Richo on the wing. 1/3 through the season he'd be well enough in contention I would think. Agree or disagree? |

Waite, Murphy, Judd (captain), Gibbs and possibly Fevola if he gets his act together should all be All-Aussie. ![]() |

Healy (AA selector) said on 3aw a couple of weeks back that Waite would certainly be in the mix. |

Waite, Murphy and Judd would be the only 3 in the mix. |

Waite would only be a possibility for the bench though. At CHB, the selectors try to go for guys who can take on the whole range of CHFs. Waite tends to take on only a few CHFs head to head. That's why Rutten was preferred last year. Would the selectors be willing to put him on a flank instead? But they'd use the interchange bench to put some of the more versatile or unusual players. Ryder being called into the ruck helps to open up a spot though. |

There is no stand out CHB in footy today. |

But the artificiality of AA selection means they look for one anyway. Especially as those who vote on it aren't on the cutting edge of footy development and are mostly wedded to older ways. If they were really serious about modernising it, they'd get rid of the positions and select a number of tall defenders, a couple of power forwards, a ruckman or two, and the rest mids with varying roles. |

I don't think we should mention the word CHB in the same sentence as Waite. Not being disrespectful, because I think he deserves to be AA based on form so far this year, but I just don't think he is a CHB in the sense that he stops the CHFs. He plays the loose man down back providing rebound exceptionally well, and can go forward also, this is his strength. It's not really CHB though. |

If Eddie keeps going at this rate he'll kick 60 goals for the year. This should put him in consideration. |

It will be Eddie Betts or Leon Davis. |

I really couldn't care less if he is on the bench or on the ground (the make believe ground). If you're in the AA that's all that matters, you'll go down in history as having been AA. |

QFT. The coaches should pick AA (with the caveat that you can't pick anyone from your own team). |
