A contact at VISY mentioned today that a bequest to Carlton in Richard Pratt's will is has been made to the tune of $100 million.

Can anyone confirm or clarify the truth of this claim?

Herald Sun reported exact same rumour during the week and Visy knocked it on the head.

Having said that, if and when it does happen, I doubt it will be announced in advance in the Visy staff newsletter.

I've heard $100 million too, and a premiership every second year.

spot on. Pratt and Family have done more than enough

if anything comes our way, i hope its never made public otherwise it will just become tabloid fodder.

If something does come our way it will be made public at least in the club's annual financial report, which Carlton is required to produce every year.

I'd rather have around Pratt as president than any financial bequest.

I think it's natural for people to think and talk of it, unfortunately.

yeah i know, but would it be possible, if the club recieved that money that they could keep is somewhere and just declare "the interest" rather than the sum amount.

as i said, i would hate, would should be considered a great gesture by the great man and his family, to turn into a media circus.

sometimes people give em the shits, just scum at times..

and yes i agree with the other sentiments. give me pratt as president over any sort of money anytime. single handedly made the club great once more.

and again, i thank him and his family.

Scott I would assume that if Richard did leave money to the club it would be in some sort of Trust where interest would be sent to CFC and the funds held by say the Pratt Foundation.

When he helped whether it was us or the NT Thunder he wanted the clubs to look at the bigger picture rather than just the handout. Eg Teach the man to fish etc.

I don't want to make light of Richard's passing, but imagine he left substantial sums to Judd and Fev on the proviso they played at Carlton for base wage... might free up a bit of cap space, and would be a lovely final thumb of the nose to the rest of the clubs

On a serious note, anything left to the club after everything Richard did for us would be above and beyond. He has done more for this great club than any other individual could have. Anything more would not be expected. There aren't enough words to express the gratitude he is owed.
