The Aged article infers that his ill health is the reason for dropping the case, which isn't the case.

The Hun states that it is because the judge ruled that evidence in the case against him was not admissible.

This is a clear distinction.

Melvey, it appears that you may have been better informed in this case if you did read the HUN. In any case it is good news and has made my day. The ACCC lawyer quoted in the first article sounds a bit like sour grapes to me!

Its been a good couple of days for the President.

Now here's an idea, I was wondering if Sticks could hand back the Presidency to Pratt until he passes. Yes it would be symbolic, but what a way to show our appreciation and to honour the great man.

Great idea. We should email the club to suggest and support it.

Nah - not his style...but this is a good result - and under the circumstances, the right result.

So why didn't the DPP drop the charges because of ill health BEFORE the judges ruling on the piece of evidence in question?? ...Very vindictive indeed..

The ABC report

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009 ... ion=justin

ACCC trying to spin that they dropped the case due to Mr Pratts illness. The last line clearly states that the justice ruled that evidence was not admissable. ACCC trying to sound magnanimous but just comming accross as sulky.

I don't know what the naming rights around Visy Park are ATM/in the future, but I would suggest a freezing of the ovals name as Visy Park for AT LEAST 10 years, MINIMUM, would be a fitting tribute to the great man and the MASSIVE contribution he has had for the club. Lets face it, without Pratt we would be screwed !!!!!!!!

What's he done for us lately, beside persecute our saviour in a spiteful, vindictive manner?

This will never be forgotten.
