Direct quote from Fev on SEN just now... when asked by Maher whether he'll put his contract negotiations off til the end of the year and maybe look at what's out there, Fev replied "I'll be staying at Carlton". I know it means nothing in May, but it's something he didn't have to say. |

When asked by Andrew Maher - being at Carlton next year or wait until the years end and basically look at other options reply: " I will be at Carlton next year". Has been assured by Malouf and Co he is required regardless. As close to a guarantee as you can get given the nature of our sport and money, team performance etc.... |

any talk on why the change? perhaps the emotion of the weekend has brought about a change? or has the Mike Sheahan article made the club think about signing up its 'A graders'? : ) |

if people didn't have such Brachymetropy they'd realise that although his attitude sucks a little bit, that any forward will not get the footy if it is kicked no where near him. People gotta realise that the midfield has been shithouse and to get off the guys back, cause on most instances there is not much he can do |

That's the kind of thing that leaders should be doing. Declaring their intentions mid-season and dousing speculation so that they can get back into the business of playing football. |

Both very good points. Fev also did mention on SEN that he got emotional at the end of the game, when they had the ball handover etc. He was pretty adamant that he was going to stay. I was the first to critisize his attitude last time on SEN about his contract but hearing him this morning left me very impressed indeed.... |
