With Walker, Stevens, Grigg, Carrots and Fisher still to come in, does anyone make way for them?

Russell?

Only stirring  ......... you can't really drop anyone from an even team performance like that, unless they are injured of course.

Yeah, there will be some tough calls made all year by the MC based on tonight's performance.

Type for type, when fit, Walker over Russell every day of the week.

We have moved beyond "1 grab" Fischer now. He'll be lucky to play much this year, barring injuries. Sooooooooo much better to have guys like Robbo, and Garlett applying pressure to opposition backlines. Wiggler now also miles ahead of Fish, and remember Fish can't kick past 35m !!!!

Walker and Stevo are musts, so someone like Johnson will make way for them (even though I do like his accurate kicking).

Jeeeeezuz.......................can't believe we ahve all this depth now. Not to mention 206, Browney and Yarran down the track.

Dunno.
Garlett, Joseph and Russell all contributed well tonight however these three will probably be most under pressure from Stevens, Grigg and Walker if fit.
Wiggins was very good but needs to kick straight.
I'm not sure about both Scotland and Chris Johnson together down back. Maybe only one sweeper/quarter back required? I like Johnson's precise kicking and Scotland's toughness however.
I guess it comes down to match ups etc.

I would drop Houlihan for Stevens.
Not too sure if we need Grigg, Carrots, and Fisher when our team is playing this good.

I love him, but Garlett doesn't have the strength to play much serious footy yet.

Walker in for him

Houlihan might be under pressure for Stevens in round 3 but I'd like to see him stay in

Fev might need a week off to fix his foot

Grigg must come in - don't know who to drop for him, maybe Bower, who hasn't found his form of last year yet. Loathe to drop him though.

Leave Joseph in, the boy is exactly what we need - incredible improvement over the pre-season

WE"RE IN GREAT SHAPE

Johnson for Grigg or Walker, an absolute ball watcher if i've ever seen one. If i was an opposition coach after watching tonights game i'd instruct my players to play through his man.

Yep, will take a while for some to catch on. He'll get a good run this year because Ratten wants him to work, but I don't think he is a long term answer for the club.

I don't think there's much chance that Johnson will be dropped. He was found out a bit defensively. But his offensive rebound and ball use was elite. Something we haven't seen since the days of Ang Christou.

You cant really drop anyone after this sort of team performance...

Stevens & Carrots won't be ready until after Rd2

Grigg, Walker and Fisher will have to wait another week

Rd2 Clash with the Lions will sort out some of the boys as we will be playing a good Side, so barring injuries, i expect some of our rookies to make way

Watchu guys talking about

Houlihan was great tonight i love this guy.
Some of the rookies will need rests throughout the season and also it depends on matchup fits with the Brisbane Lions next week...but really although Stevens may be a walk up start...we should make guys like Walker really earn his spot now.

I still see Walker as being in the 'potential' category...he shows glimpses of brilliance but not consistent enough at the moment and has always been gifted a spot in the team throughout his career...dominating VFL for a few weeks might do him some good.

Walker has gotten better every year - he came into the team last year and had an immediate and extremely positive impact. He is easily in our best 18. EASILY. He just needs a clear run. He wasn't gifted games last year, he had to play a number of games in the ants before regaining his spot.

No one should be dropped for round 2.

Johnson- wouldn't drop him.

Even Wiggins (despite his wayward shooting for goal) was good.

I would like to see Grigg (when he is fit) in the team though...but can't see a spot for him yet.

Johnson , Russell . The 2 worst players tonight .
Garlett did OK , but needs time in the VFL yet .
That makes way for Stevens , Walker , Grigg .
Carrots is still a few weeks away , and things will have changed by then .

It was a tremendous win ! But we mustn't forget , the opposition was pathetic .

No changes. Shouldn't drop anyone after a performance like that.

The reason we did so well is that Ratts picked players who were fit and in form and that is the way it should stay.

If we beat the Lions next week IMO guys like Stevens, Carrots should resume in the ANTs. Makes a great statement, everyone needs to EARN their spots! :smoking:
