Tomorrow night's match will be shown live on Ten and One.

Probably not Live in Sydney on Ten, but hoping that it is on ONE before 11:15.

Thank you, sellout crowd!!

It's on at 8pm WA time on both channels now..... :screwy:

Looks like us WA supporters will have join in the celebrations 3 hours after the game is over.....

Yep, us WA supporters getting screwed again. In line with the ever present anti syphoning laws, ONE HD can't show it any earlier than normal Ch 10.

Why not comprimise and show it at 6.30 or even 7.00?

Add to it that the AFL screwed the ABC, so they're not even broadcasting the match on NewsRadio.

F*cking Bullshit!

KK lucky it was on Fox 518 I would have spewed if I missed that

I rang Ten/Ones programming department and they said the reason they didn't show it was because they thought it wouldn't rate at that time slot. But when I fronted them that they were showing the replay the following night in the same timeslot - they couldn't give me an answer .

So on thursday night a live broadcast won't rate
but on friday night a replay will rate :banghead: :donk: :screwy:

The answer I got when I rang and gave Ten a piece of my mind was that One isn't allowed to show the broadcast before it's shown on Ten. Which sounds like shit to me. I can understand it if it's a Foxtel thing, as Fox isn't allowed to show matches which are scheduled as FTA before they are shown on FTA.

I asked them if they were committed at all to making any penetration into Sydney, if it's more important to show repeats of Kindergarten Cop, and Bad Boys over a massive match, the first of the Season. And I gave the girl a mouthful (politely, of course) about the "Come on, Sydney, get behind your Swans" line they give in the ads.

I'm not holding my breath for any improvement any time soon.

Ch 7 used the same excuse during the Olympics about the anti-siphoning laws because not everyone has digital TV, but its crap to me even if its true.

To me it says that the legislation was poorly written.

Thank you, Richard Alston :garthp:

It's sad that the laws governing new technology are written by old men who do not understand it.

He didn't write it. Didnt understand it either. So you can't blame him.

I don't think the ALP is any more enthusiastic about it. All they have done since they got in was delay the implementation of digital TV. They could have just spent $100 mil buying Cheap Chinese set top boxes for pensioners and getting a cheap rate for everyone else. Kev could have got us a discount for sure

Nice sound bite, but its not the technology they need to understand, rather its the public's consumption habits for sports media.

No doubt the legislation is certainly overdue for an update.... Its a bit OTT to assume that the majority of Australians actually want to watch major sporting events on TV....
