Ok, so as I've complained in a few other threads I haven't received my membership as of yet.

It's a Gold Adult 18. Reserved seats for home games only.

Of course I've wanted to get tickets to the Carlton - Richmond match, but I could not purchase a
reserved seat upgrade on my membership without the barcode off my membership card.

So I've e-mailed the club yesterday seeking advice, and not getting a response I've called them up late
this afternoon (I've been on night shift, otherwise I would have rung earlier).

I've explained the situation to the reception lady - trying hard not to get upset at somebody who is
not responsible for this mistake. She said all she could do is give me the barcode number, and then
I'll get a temporary membership card at the ground... I pointed out why wasn't this mentioned or was
I not e-mailed in regards to this option but that's another issue...

I HAVE NO BARCODE! MY MEMBERSHIP ISN'T EVEN BLOODY PROCESSED YET!!!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :donk:

I have been a membership for a long time now, and I renewed my membership late last year and
have had the direct debits taken out for the past 3 or 4 months.

Not processed yet. Unbelieveable.

I pointed out that the whole thing is ludicrous, and also that I wasn't upset at her - but considering
I'm going overseas for 3 months and I will only be able to attend the first 8 games of the season I
want the opportunity to attend every game I can - and not many games are more important than the
first game of the season!

She said "I won't keep you on hold, I'll get someone to call back".

Which is just as well, since the club is now closed - and I'd have been waiting on hold all night.

...now I'm just really

Has this happened to anybody else before, and what was the outcome?

I have had issues for 3 months!

They totally stuffed up my membership

I cannot even scan to get into the game!

They cant get a thing right down there!

I will be buying an AFL membership next year!

Absolutely a disgrace!

Anyone got Swanny's email?

The CEO has to hear about this!

Mate, if you happen to be taking the piss - then let me say that I have never once had issues prior to
this with the club, and obviously you should be able to understand my frustration in being prepared to fork out
over $400, for effectively 8 games (that's $50 a game, not including the couple of interstates) - only
to find out that they have dropped the ball and I can't go after all...

...on the other hand - it's nice to get some sort of response to my rantings...

(btw, nice av., I will be staying in Oia in Santorini when I get over to Europe in a few months)

not really, just makes me think that if you'd posted that in the membership tally thread
you wouldn't come across as a smartass.

Actually. I apologise.

Even if both replies weren't sincere I shouldn't react as such.

Guess you could say if I were a fairweather supporter I wouldn't be acting this way...

I got a letter from the coach today saying he's sad I haven't rejoined this year.

Which is a bit naff as I joined on the first day and got my m'ship last month sometime.

Apparently many clubs are incompetant with their memberships too.

(my nan listens to 3aw and lots of people were ringing them complaining that they hadnt got their stuff either).

My aunt and uncle have been members of the mcc or afl (i cant remember which one) for years and years, and their tickets got stuffed up too this year. They were sent cards with junior barcodes on them and they cant use them. And now have been unable to contact the relevant people to get it fixed up. So they cant get entry this week either.

I dont understand why the clubs cant have their own membership card printer machine so that when you pay for your membership they can give you your card straightaway. I couldnt careless if i didnt get my membership pack until a few weeks or so later. The most important thing about your membership is the actual card. Its so frustrating!

I don't think there has been a year where I haven't had a problem. They are lucky I keep coming back considering I am in Perth and get very little value out of it

Just think of it as a non tax-deductable donation. ;)

In all honesty, interstate supporters should be cherished - for all the "value" you get out of your membership... do you get reserved seats over there?

This is one thing the AFL does well. Year after year, no issue.

i feel for you guys, i got mine in 5 days, after renewing at the family day. The club should be consistent, not sending out the packages in days for some people but months for others.

i'm sure it must be slightly different, but I joined my newborn up as a baby blue last Tuesday night and received his membership pack today. I feel for you guys. and its not like you left it to the last minute either. I had a few issues as well. Both my father and I went to the month by month thing for the first time. When the first payment didn't come out, I got straight on the front foot and got onto the membership department about it. I kept at them until it was ll sorted out. Sent probably 6 emails and spoke to them on at least 2 seperate occasions. must have annoyed the buggery out of them, but I got my membership package through about 6 weeks ago now.

I signed up myself and my son as an AFL member this year after being club members over the past few years. Received a letter yesterday with some words from Brett Ratten asking me to join up this year... would have hoped that they have some visibility that I am now an AFL member with Carlton club support!

Im being petty I know.. but I feel like I should call the club and let them know I HAVE joined up!!

Just to update people I have bought two tickets late last night ***at face value***, so - fingers crossed I don't get
rorted - I'll be one of the 90,000 tomorrow night.

But at what cost?

I'm out of pocket an extra $50 now, ok - I want to go that's what happens but I called the club before... because they didn't
bother returning my call, only to hear sorry - I can put it through on the priority now.

Why didn't you put them ALL on the priority a fortnight ago?!

So basically I've ben told tough titties.

Can I have some advice on who I should e-mail at the club to express my disappointment, instead to telling it to
a temp-worker membership dept. pleb who probably barracks for Essendon* anyway?
