Dennis Armfield
Dennis’ last two games in the NAB Cup were promising as a smaller defender and running through the midfield. Our expectation is that he become a regular player this season and to do that he needs to work at being a more consistent kicker.

Setanta O'hAilpin
He had a well-publicised pre-season blow-up, but he's fighting his way back from that and is training hard. We'll persist with him as a tall defender and consistent footy back at VFL level is the key for him.

Rhys O'Keeffe
He's a powerfully built kid and we've been happy with his early work on the track. He's a fantastic deep kick off his left, but he just needs to work on his passing and inside work. We're stoked with Rhys and he'll be a very good player for a long time.

Jordan Russell
He played a fantastic team role for us last year and is on the cusp of becoming a very good player. He's done a lot of work and he's got all the tools.

Was impressed by this article, and pleased to hear a few terms that just don't crop up in the public domain enough, like pattern-running.

Funnily enough, all it would take is the words 'Caroline Wilson' at the top of the page for the article to be denigrated and smashed with words such as 'tabloid', 'typical suck job', 'tripe', 'usual crap you'd expect', and so on...

Ummm. No it wouldn't.

If Caroline Wilson wrote the article it would be full of:
(a) unsubstantiated rumour;
(b) "unnamed sources";
(c) some tenuous link to an otherwise unrelated scandal or other beef of hers; and
(d) some mention of how the Tigers are superior.

Caroline Wilson is nothing more than a gossip columist for football. She should be writing in the Confidential pages of the Herald-Sun, such is her credibility. She has never written an insightful football related article.

Chris Yarran
Chris is getting fitter, but it is a long way from Swan Districts fitness to AFL fitness. He's got exquisite skills, but he just needs to work at adapting to the intensity of both training and matches. He's still young and we'll give him plenty of time, but he will add a real exciting dimension to our forward line.

How good is this Riley bloke ! I love listening to him talk about the players. He sounds great at educating the players not to mention educating me.

a handful of people i speak to have made mention that they think riley is the brains behind carlton, helping ratten learn on the job so to speak. . .ratts threw his name out as a candidate for richmond etc so its no coincidence that he's being given so much praise after reading that article.

Nah, we need Synbad as an assistant so we can get the players waltzing through the opposition defence.
