I know its early days, but i think we all honestly believe we can make it into the final 8 this year. Who are we going to replace to climb at least 3 spots from last year?? Will the tigers and lions climb with us? Who will drop out of the 8? Roos? Dogs? Swans? Saints? My guess for the final 8 is ...
Hawks Maggies  Crows Dogs Blues  Tigers Saints I would be really interested to hear what those on TC think will be the final 8 Isn't it nice to dream this time of the year

Swans will fall out IMO. Hard to say re the others. Remembering that last year you could throw a blanket over 4th to 10th, anything is possible. Injuries could/will play a massive part. eg. take Revolt out of the Aints and you'd think they're sure to miss. |

If we are pretty much injury free, if Jamo and Bower can develop into the good defenders we hope they will if Gibbs and Murphy can play consistent roles in our midfield and Yarran, Eddie and Fisher kick some goals we could be top 4. I'm in a particularly optimistic mood today and the above is the most I could ever hope for. |

We have to win the close ones to go higher than 6th. But I cant see us going lower than 8th. If...we win against: Saints Crows Roos Bummers (once at least) Pies (once at least) Tigers (once at least) We will make the top 4 (me thinks) My prediction? depending on injuries etc we could finish anywhere between 3 and 10 IMO. I think we will make it. assuming every key player was stay stay fit etc my 8 would be Geelong Hawthorn Collingwood St Kilda Carlton Bulldogs Adelaide Richmond |

Curious why so many have Pies above us. Is it based on their draw only? We beat them twice last year by circa 5 goals, running away both times. Will they "improve" more than us from 2008? Do their younger players have more upside than Murph, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Jamo, Bower, Grigga etc?? Judd should be better in 2009 too! Houla and Hadley virtually new recruits in 2009. Not on, we'll finish above them (and beat them twice again!). |

Our Midfield shits on theirs and they have no answer for Fev. More importantly, our backline seems to match up really well against their forward line. Having said that, they have the measure of St. Kilda, Essendon*, Freo, Brisbane, and tend to break even with North and a few others. We, on the other hand, whilst taking steps against the 'bogey' teams, I wouldn't mark us down as sure things against them all just yet. And it is for this reason that I have them ahead of us on the ladder, but let's hope we get to meet them in the finals because we would smash them. It would be @#$%&! excellent.
