Quote:
EXCLUSIVE: A JIGSAW puzzle is a key piece of Carlton superstar Chris Judd's lucrative contract with cardboard giant Visy.

The Herald Sun can reveal the list of obligations placed on Judd in his role as Visy's "environmental ambassador".

As well as the use of Judd's image on an environmental puzzle, his duties include providing green tips for the AFL footy record and appearing at Visy staff functions.

Cash payments from Visy to Judd - believed to total several hundred thousand dollars a year - come on top of his $1 million-a-season Carlton pay packet.

AFL chiefs have approved the arrangement.

Visy is owned by embattled billionaire and Blues powerbroker Dick Pratt.

Pratt, 74, stood down as Carlton president last year to face criminal charges that he lied to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over price-fixing.

The Visy deal is believed to have been a deciding factor in Judd choosing Carlton after he left West Coast Eagles in 2007.

Here it comes...

Obviously the Herald-Sun missed the press conference last year announcing the AFL had approved the deal after a 8 month investigation. Just another excuse to put Carlton on the cover because it obviously sells.

Watch the morons who can't think for themselves gobble up this "information". They rely on consuming "information" given to them from the media to form their opinions.

Let me guess - Carlton are the only team in the history of the game ever to have a player work for a company aligned with a past president.

It is a scoop! - well done Herald Sun. First time ever.

Chairman Ray Horsburgh from Essendon*, let's investigate him why don't we? Was at Smorgon Steel - does anyone aligned at Essendon* - wives, daughters, sons, players get employment opportunites from this link?

or Rick Hart Chairman at Fremantle - he is managing director of of one of WA's major retailers. I wonder if any Fremantle players have had employment opportunities opened up by someone they know at the club. Wow! getting a job from someone you know...amazing!

Let's stick our beak in their dealings- or is the best the Herald Sun can do just take pot shots at Carlton?

Why stop at Judd - let's investigate EVERYONE.

Carlton sells papers.

That's why we have a full complement of sponsors.

All good from where I'm sitting

ps - this deal is 2000% less dodgy than mattylloyd.com / jameshird.com

Be nice if we were to see a story in the HUN:

"Secrets of Nathan Brown's pay packet revealed"

I'm not going to hold my breath though.

I thought Judd was getting the money simply becuase he had allowed us to use
www.juddthinksvisyisgreen.com

isn't that the way it usually works?...what's this business of actually having to do stuff??

Their headline tomorrow is gonna be that we have a new Prime Minister called Kevin Rudd, who just beat John Howard in an election.

Nah, it will be that Rudd hikes the bejesus in interest rates to slow down an economy in hyperdrive. :screwy:

Slow news day.

Herald Sun trying to make a tantilisingly hollow something out of nothing.

Beggars disbelief.

This is great news. It is like we are re-living the "Judd goes to Carlton" announcement.

Lets start up Talking Judd again.

WE HAVE JUDD!!! I still can't believe it.

It makes sense though. I haven't read the article, but I believe this is deserving of a front page mention, and I'm sure it got equal billing with an article about Richmond being investigated by the AFL, and similar stories about other players hired by companies with ties to their club.

Why are you all looking at me like that? Is my fly undone or something?
