Well I'm not going to go into a statisical background for the NAB Cup, but I will discuss where I would like to see the improvement in Carlton's game plan and development across the team.

I'm looking for the folowing signs tonight:

- Improved hit out ratio
- More run and bounce, taking players on
- More support at ground level when Fev has 2-3 against him.
- More forward line pressure and limit the numbers of rebound 50's
- Fisher to improve his kicking, both passing and shots on goal
- A more even performance across 4 quarters, our second and third quarters in 2008 were our undoing most weeks.
- Simmo and Murphy to raise there efficiency for long kicks
- Improved disposal when rebounding from 50.

I don't think we'll win, but then i thought Collingwood had no chance getting Maxwell off.

My tip Roos by 23pts

I hope we win, and I think we can. A win is against the odds as North are a seasoned team with a sprinkle of youth in their. In fact, I would say North are a well balanced team even with the retirement of Shannon and Thompson. If anything, I think they're a better team without those 2 old blokes.

I would have preferred for Setanta to be playing against Hale, but then again we have Walker, Warnock, Carrazzo, Scotland, Hampson, Browne, Bannister and Bentick unavailable, so we have a real good chance to see the next tier of players; and they're all kids.

Seven debutants; that's fantastic for them, for the team and for the supporters.

If the Baby Blues win tonight, watch out season 2009.

JUDD FEV JAMO GIBBS MURPHY KREUZER GRIGG

we have a lot to look forward to tonight and enough guns to get us over the line.

JUDD

I'm really excited.

Fisher, Austin and Hadley out according to AFL Gameday teams.

Milestone match: Little Mjonc's first game since he was born, he'll probably be asleep in 15mins

Garlett and Army are the subs.

Small alarm as Juddy went down the race before the bounce ... don't stress he's back!!

Game day is slow.

Hale marks and goals 25 out.

Only early but familiar pattern with conversion of inside 50's. Blues have had 5 to 2 for one goal each.

Fev has 101. Robbo getting involved nicely across half forward, JR great link play in the leadup to that goal.

Blues 2 6 18
Roos: 1 0 6

Kicking poorly for goal.

Roos: 0 2 1 13

PS: Yarran subbed for Armfield.
