Livingston is not good enough to warrant autmoatic selection in the side.
He's in the same league as Watt and Nicholson as far as being a quality defender goes.

Whatever your view on Livo, Nicholson kept Fevola to 2.3 on the weekend, thats all a key defender should do. If Livo kept each FF to 2.3 each week, we'd be laughing. Plus, imagine the benefit of freeing up T-Bird! Oh, the pain, the anguish, and the stupid team selection...

T-Bird looked shattered to me during the game.

In the second quarter at the Heatley stand end he was cutting off ALL the leads HIMSELF. That means whichever Melbourne player lead T-Bird was the ONE guy following the lead to cut if off. I could not believe it!! Is this a team instruction or is he the only guy who cares out there? (I think the latter is true).

But prez, it's too easy for players to baulk Livo :lol:

Took one of the Mad Canberra Faithful to the OO today sunday to try to meet n greet a few of the guys. No official or unofficial session on today just the medical team and those who came to see them. Real Issue. Spoke to T Bird about Barney - He said the club didn't think it was too bad but then then threw in a right hook to the jaw of the Match c'tee. I asked about Livo T-Birds response " Don't know why the hell he wasn't picked this week 2nds werent playing and he'll play this week comin." NOT HAPPY JAN!

The silver lining is that obviously T-Bird wants to play alongside Livingstone, can only be good thing for our next 10 year Full Back/Centre Half Back combination.

We have gun talls down back.. we dont need livo. as a matter of fact we have a surplus of fantastic footballers on our list . If Nicholson and Watt became available wed probably be looking at them....

Livo is a confidence player we cant bring him back if he is not 100% fit. Surprised to hear that the bullants didnt play on the weekend though.

A real pity he didn't get a chance to play for the last time at optus... Perhaps It's just Pagan letting him know that he still is unsafe and he must continue to work hard... I hope Livo doesn't resent not being picked...

It freed up T-Bird to CHB, and his creativity and poise enable him to make good decisions regarding his delivery into the forward line, and that's when Lance and Fev were hit on the chest. It's all about structure.

(I think the latter is true). I fear it's the latter...but also the rate, speed and qualityof delivery into our defence has a huge influence. T-bird is a class deliverer (by foot) and not so great by hand (as shown on the weekend) under pressure...get him to chb and tell him to kick long to targets....get the others to worry about the deep defence. T-bird is also a player that "hurts" when we're losing even if it's not his error....Stevens, LAppin and T-bird are the on field "leaders" after Kouta at the moment

The reason I love T-Bird so much is that he genuinely hates losing. I don't think I've ever seen him gracefully accept his opponant taking a mark. He's either cursing himself, or more often teammate's further upfield. Probably not a good thing to curse teammate's as much as he does, but it shows his passion and in that respect is a great thing.

livo and t-bird have been massive loses to our defence and in part i think alot of our problems are a resultant factor of this. its a snow-ball effect. Livo at Full Back allows T-Bird to play CHB, this allows Teague to take the 3rd tall, which means we have Houla and possibly Lappin playing on the 4th and 5th best forwards, with Carrots taking the small forward out of the game and providing some drive as well. (those that doubt carrots have to be mad, he was great again for us in defence whilst doing a job as well, starting 22 is carrots) With Livo and T-Bird our defence is solid. With livo in this also prevents the need for Whitnall to play in defence as well, it puts Deluca up in the forward line See the Snow ball getting bigger and bigger as you look thrhough the team. So suddenly our forward line has Fev on the Fullback, Whitnall on the Second Best Defender, Waite on the 3rd Best Defender, Deluca on the forth best defender with Eddie and Campo running around the forward line. Its gets better, that snowball of ours, getting bigger and bigger as you look through our team. Ive said it before and i will say it again and it is why i cant understand alot of the negativity about our team, Our team is as good as anyone elses. This is the team i would like to see on current form. Carrots, Livingston, Teague Houlahan, T-Bird, Lappin Russel, Bentick, Simpson Waite, Whitinall, Deluca Betts, Fevola, Walker French, Koutafidies, Stevens int Camporeale, Morell, Bryan, Sporn emg, Scotland, Norman, McGrath, Jessie D Smith all is not lost with out squad if they can play in their rightful position and it all comes down to Livingston not being in the team. Our spine is awesome Livingston Thorton Koutafidies Whitnall Fevola remove one of them and our structure fails as we have seen since the wizzer cup which was the last time you saw all those 5 in the same team together.

Was going to put this as a separate topic...but does anyone wonder if our match committee was SUCKERED???? The word around the traps was Neitz a maybe but probably not, Robertson no way. Were our "ins" a target fot tagging small forwards? (Yze, Davey, Bruce)
